Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) document
Does anyone here have access to the Mercedes Dealer VMI. I saw the VMI for my car at a dealership but cant get a copy of it.

Thanks MJR2. Interesting how varied the MB service records are. The one I saw on mine was very detailed from a Florida dealership and included a complete ABC strut replacement on both sides along with quite a few other items. But that's just going on memory from what they (the parts department in SC) showed me. I'm going to start looking for a local dealership up here in Canada.

EDIT: I'm sure salesman would have found a way to provide a copy had I asked before closing the deal! Here's an example of the VMI data. While it does indicate the plugs were changed at the 50K service, very important to me, "OPCODE not on report" doesn't identify other specific services. In addition I do not see transmission or differntial fluid specifically called out in any service before or after, while brake fluid is called out 4 times over 85000 miles.

If you have a question about a specific procedure, such as a Tech Bulletin "recall", you can ask the dealership, "Was the blinker fluid replaced?" and they may tell you. But I got the same "reason" that the VMI records are not shared for privacy purposes. Yet, when buying my current SL400 used car, the selling dealership (a Honda used-car dealership) had no problem providing me a copy.

There is no previous owner info on mine either. The prior owner info is not all that was a concern and was what brought on the silliness of not giving out a VMI.
The prior and actual work was also considered private by some entity, or court if I recall correctly from years ago. It’s silly, but I think someone argued that unless a person paid for the work it was none of their business unless the owner that paid for the work provided it to them. I think that original case info can still be looked up online.
Again it’s silly, but I can totally see some douche bag making a big deal about info that he paid for being provided to someone else.
