European Tail lights - where to get?

I'm likely shipping my 2015 White Arrow from USA to Spain. Turns out, if it comes with me as part of my household goods, most of the taxes / fees don't apply,
HOWEVER...
It does need to be modified to Euro Spec - part of which is the tail lights. Amber turn signals vs red. I believe the 2015 SL550 Euro equivalent is either a SL500 or SL600. Where can I acquire the Euro tail lights? Likely cheaper, even with shipping of parts, to have mods done stateside.

Thanks!
Rick

I think I already responded in your other thread. These take minutes to swap by hand. Just order them in Europe. Germany should be best. Ebay.... I think you can do that after arrival or pay more for shipping. Model doesn't matter but you should stay with th pre-facelift for a consistent look.

Not really sure. I will try to look up a part number in the EPC.

I only can find one part number, though there is a suffix for Canadian cars. That said, I agree with Wolfman that you should acquire the lights in Europe. Or you could try the German eBay site.

https://www.ebay.de/

eBay has proven difficult without the OEM part No. I ask if this is the Euro spec part with amber turn signals. They merely reply with a fitment list - which includes both the SL500 AND SL550.

Do you by chance have a couple of links to parts stores in Europe/Germany?

Thanks!

Here's a start. Translate the site to English unless you read German.

https://www.ebay.de/itm/125926160322...3ABFBMqMGL9eli

Interesting that the part numbers given are the same in the EPC for US vehicles.

Thanks. In the photos for that part, there's a clear section, but no amber. Is it merely the bulbs that make the difference? So there would be both amber(turn) and white(backup) bulbs in the assembly?

Well, the white/clear backup is that separate light strip under the center of the rear bumper. I will have to check mine, but I know on the C350 I have, the lens appears clear, but the turn signal changes color. Wouldn't it be cool if the color change was just a software change.

Sounds like a question for @BenzNinja.

There's a clear strip on the tail lights as well. Not the center section. See mine attached.

I've never stood behind my car while backing up -- can't figure out just how to do that. But are you saying that the clear part of the tail light lights up when backing up? I thought it was just the one under the bumper.

US requires white reverse lights

I went and checked my car. When in reverse, ONLY the light under the bumper lights up -- not the clear part of the tail lights. Those are signal lights and are red.

Interesting.. take a look at the prior photo of my car. The rear center light is red, and acts as the 3rd brake light.

Hmm... light bulb change required as well? Gotta get the amber in there somehow. I wonder if US dealers can do the coding.

No. Your backup light is UNDER the bumper.

Why don't you get @BenzNinja to do the coding remotely for you? He may be able to tell which wires to change, as well. I'm sure he is a lot less than buying new tail lights.

Can you recode? If so, what's the process. Feel free to PM if you'd like.
Thanks!

I am confused here. The tail lights should be straight swap with the US ones. I don't understand the whole wiring/coding conversation. The 3 brake light in the center and the back-up lighting is the same in Europe as in the US.

The tail lights are a complete assembly (lights are LED).

Part no:
A2318200164 left
A2318200264 right
I have seen new ones for around 360 Euro (cheaper than Ebay)_ but haven't looked much at the details

Part number I show for SAE USA Tail Lights is : A2318200364 (left), A2318200464 (right)
There appear to be connector and wiring differences (to the SAM) between The SAE spec lights and EU spec A2318200164 (left), A2318200264 (right) lights.

See connector pic below
