SL/R231: Recognize this buildup?

I'm praying it's a hose. I had a coolant level warning one time. I didn't even add any more and never had another warning, but my mechanic found the buildup in that photo above and wanted to do a pressure test, so that's what's happening right now. He described it as "it'll break, and then we'll order the parts to fix it". Kinda wish he hadn't told me. 😂

Experiencing something similar in my 2018 SL450. Extremely slow coolant leak. Only about three cups of coolant lost over the course of 4 months. But nonetheless, I'm losing it somewhere.

I had a similar issue with a slow coolant leak. I'd occaisionally get a low coolant warning, but didn't see any obivoius leaks around the hoses. It looked like the top of the coolant tank was leaking. Had my indy run a pressue test and he found no leaks, which made no sense. Rather than start replacing a bunch of hoses, I replace the cap on the expansion tank. Ever since, no issues with coolant loss...knock on wood
