Exclamation Recognize this buildup?

Mechanic says I have a coolant leak on my SL63. Does anyone recognize the buildup in this spot? Is it common?

Do you have blue or pink coolant?

I'm not sure. And the car is in the shop now so I can't check.

Wow, pretty low mileage for water pump issue. Do you know if the car sat for a while?
Could be a hose…

I'm praying it's a hose. I had a coolant level warning one time. I didn't even add any more and never had another warning, but my mechanic found the buildup in that photo above and wanted to do a pressure test, so that's what's happening right now. He described it as "it'll break, and then we'll order the parts to fix it". Kinda wish he hadn't told me. 😂

Probably time to go in there and replace all the plastic turbo coolant lines. They are problems and that’s what you’re issue is likely

Experiencing something similar in my 2018 SL450. Extremely slow coolant leak. Only about three cups of coolant lost over the course of 4 months. But nonetheless, I'm losing it somewhere.

Did the original poster ever have his situation rectified?

I had a similar issue with a slow coolant leak. I'd occaisionally get a low coolant warning, but didn't see any obivoius leaks around the hoses. It looked like the top of the coolant tank was leaking. Had my indy run a pressue test and he found no leaks, which made no sense. Rather than start replacing a bunch of hoses, I replace the cap on the expansion tank. Ever since, no issues with coolant loss...knock on wood
