How clear "key battery" message?
Good morning,
I am still seeing the message on the dash (2015 SL400) reminding me to change the battery in my key fob. I did that with a fresh (tested) battery, but the message persists. I have searched YoutTube and this Forum, and none of the suggestions have worked. Can someone please tell me the secret? Thank you, and happy driving!

There's been a lot of discussion about key fob batteries. For some mysterious reason, using Panasonic batteries seem to fix these problems.

Finally. On another thread in this forum, I learned that substituting in a 2032 battery for the 2025 battery does the trick. Well, I did that and it does work. I have finally gotten rid of that annoying message to replace the keypad battery

the problem with a 2032 battery is that the cover sometimes won't completely snap back on because it is 3.2mm think and not 2.5mm thick!

I just resolved this myself by replacing the battery with a cheap CR2025 that I bought at Walmart (it didn't have the bitter coating).
I had previously tried multiple brands of new battery (all had the bitter coating) and none of them worked (all resulted in the error coming straight back)

I just got that warning yesterday in my 2019 SL450. Hit OK button on steering wheel to dismiss the warning, changed the battery... all good!

I changed mine to the Panasonic battery like @JettaRed suggested.
Worked like a charm and haven't seen the warning since.
