Engine mounts WIS

Been all over WIS to try and find the official method to change the engine mounts on my SL but can't find where that section is. I looked under engine suspension and it shows a single rear engine mount which I think is the gearbox mount but I cannot find the right and left engine mounts section anywhere. Can anyone give me any pointers as to what section on WIS to find engine mount replacement?

Give me your full model number 231.XXX

I have the instructions for the M276 engine. That may help.

Don't know why the WIS is negligent about the engine mounts. I just changed mine on my W204 C350. The passenger side (LHD) was not too bad, but still a pain the first time. The driver side was a different kind of pain. I didn't have to disconnect the cats or anything, but I did have to disconnect the steering coupling and move it out of the way to remove the mount.

Whenever changing the mounts, you need to lift the engine a bit. I have a generic engine lift bar but didn't use it. Instead, I lifted with a block of wood on a floor jack at the back edge of the oil pan. That seemed strong enough, and thankfully, it was. Don't lift too high or too quickly without making sure there is nothing that will get pinched between the engine and firewall.

Thanks for the advice info.
Did you manage to find the info on WIS or did you, like myself, not find it?

Nothing for your car. I would think you could use the M276 info as a guide. Worse case, you may need to drop the cats.

Yes I've looked through the above wis document and I will use it as a guide so thank you for posting it. Strange though that there's no info on my particular car. Wonder if there's anything for the AMG 63 car engine mounts?
Again, thanks Jetta.

What is the mileage on your car? What symptoms has it exhibited that points to motor mounts?

Attached below are the WIS sections pertinent to engine mount R&R for R231/M278
(As mentioned above the WIS appears to be incomplete. I’ll have to look on a newer version than the WIS I have access to right now.
In the mean time, I have attached the Engine mount R&R from the 212/218 chassis with the M278 which should be close.)

Good Luck!

No symptoms per-se although the engine moves more than it used to during static revving. I was looking through wis to see how difficult the job would be when I couldn't find the document, which is when I posted on here asking. I wasn't sure whether my copy of wis was corrupted or not, and it seems that it isn't.
Again, really appreciate your help with this.

I have 128k miles on my C350 and "everyone" says engine mounts are good for about 100k miles, so I assumed that I needed new mounts. In other threads, members have posted that replacing engine mounts is akin to wearing glasses for the first time -- you don't know how bad it is. Well, in my case, I think the mounts (engine and tranny) were still good -- no leakage, torn rubber, full collapse (though the old ones were more compressed than the new ones. We only put 5k to 8k miles on the car per year, so I'm hoping I won't need to replace them again. The car does seem to idle more smoothly, and throttle response seems better (placebo?), so maybe the new mounts are a little stiffer. But I don't feel any roughness in the car. I'm glad I did change them out, but it wasn't absolutely necessary at this time.
