SL/R232: Price of the New SL

There was a interesting piece on our local news last week about the huge vacuum ships in the Pacific Ocean recovering lithium rocks/nodules from the ocean floor. No one knows the impact on ocean life being sucked through the hoses or millions of tons of ocean bed mud being pumped back into the water at the surface.

As far as energy production the future is here now using small fusion reactors with off peak storage that can/will be funded by new public offerings coming out of:
natriumpower.com, terra power.com and others that can have plants running by or B4 2025 but, will need regulatory approval that will likely be OK'd once the dummy's in Washington realize nuclear power is the only real answer. These new reactor designs are much safer, much less waste etc etc.
PROBLEM is "the grid" and to get this done will require massive "INFRASTRUCTURE"....IMHO if an infrastructure bill is passed it should be heavy with major grid construction but, the dummies in charge of us don't have a clue it seems as all that is talked about is roads, mass transit act...I hear nothing about the "grid" and grid/infrastructure security
Longer term (but, not too far away) is FUSION that is now becoming a reality.....take a look at cfs.energy (spin off out of MIT)....all the fuel needed is one cup of H2O to provide power needs of a family for 1 yr

Don't disagree with the environmental impact of EV manufacturing. The environmental costs of fossil fuels is now well established (it's existential). Until we have sufficient sustainable energy it's a matter of picking your poison.

Want to correct my post of 7/28 above.
In my haste to post I noted the "the future is here now" with fusion and listed a few companies but, I meant to say fission is here now in smaller plants with energy storage capacity.....These Cos are for real and offer smaller footprints, safer sodium vs water primary loops AND storage.....look at the links.
BUT
FUSION (the holy grail) is on the horizon....see the link to new offspring of MIT (others too are really close)
All the above great BUT, my big concern is how to we handle the POWER GRID question if we move to all electric???
