It shows once again the AMG Performance Seats (555) - do you think they will be available for 2023?

It looks like all the delayed upholsteries (and the 555 seats) are back for 2023 without delays.
Only 1 delayed option right now, the All-Season Floor Mats.

The question I have is when will these orders made now be delivered? They are still not making deliveries of cars ordered last January! Indeed mine was made in January and delivered in September but others made at the same time are still in some queue somewhere. The dealer I use has about 30 ordered long ago still not in the US.

The car I actually spec'd and ordered is still in Germany as we speak - it was built in April and has been in the factory parking lot ever since - that is when I bought a car here that had almost the same specification - - add - Carbon Ceramic Brakes and High End Audio -- deduct red roof which I am ok with given that I can only get yellow or in this case gold calipers.

I have no clue what has happened to " German efficiency" - being German myself I am actually quite offended

Because there is no "Delayed" marker next to the options like there was for 2022.

There must be something “ up” again.I was told by my sales guy that MB:

a) has withdrawn the MY 23 ordering guide

b) has withdrawn all MY 23 slots that were available even last week.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that almost 300 2022 SL 63’s are available and s I don’t know how many SL 55 ‘s

Indeed they first want to sell all "old" MY2022 cars before opening MY2023 to order I think?

Also, 2022’ s are still arriving and there are some still in Germany waiting to be shipped.
as a matter of fact the car that I originally speced is still at the factory since it’s built date of April 13.
luckily I was able to buy a similar car without penalty.

MB really screwed this launch up royally.

Apparently they are finally accepting’23 orders. Got a text this morning from my salesman that they have a changeable’23 to be built in February available. He said the Crystal White/Black, Tartufo Brown and Machiato Beige interiors are all available now.

Correct. I placed an order last week for a 2023 SL55 performance trim in hyper blue with the exclusive tartufo/black interior for a January build slot for MSRP and a decent trade in for my 2020 Porsche Taycan.

Hyper Blue is a fantastic choice, easily the best color on the new SL in my opinion. Can't wait to see yours.

I question the marketing "experts" at MB. No AM radio??? Vestigial rear seats?? Limited trunk space??? Black A pillar regardless of body/top color???

I like white exteriors and like the "Crystal White"/black interior.......with maybe a blue top ( is that a bizarre request??) Apparently the white/black comes with a macchiato(TAN) dash.....why not black or dark grey?

Porsche offers myriad colors interior and exterior which MB claims is impossible!!!..........perhaps MB should ask the potential and previous clients for some input. Sadly the last SL is upon us........MB has lost it's way.

Pretty sure the Crystal White/Black interior has a black dash even though the order guide shows otherwise. Would not make any sense to have a Machiato dash. Every photo I’ve seen has a Black dash and headliner. My understanding is that you can specify a light grey headliner if you want.

White with a blue top would look good IMO. Almost ordered a 911 that way with the Chaulk/Blue interior until they told me how much the ADM was and wait time.

It looks like the dates for US 2023 SLs were pushed back a month. My order for a 2023 SL55 was originally planned for January 2023 production. I received a message this afternoon that the confirmed production date is now Feb 6, 2023. In addition, the MSRP for the 2023 was not released to the dealership as of today. They will send me the Moroney label as soon as they get it. I noticed that the US website still has the 2022 model on the configurator.

I just got an update today that my production date has improved. Was 2/1 and now 1/27.

Mine scheduled for same date is purportedly at the port awaiting shipment. Heard anything?

I sent a text to the dealership to inquire about the status of the Maroney label and production. I will let you know what I find out.

I received a response from my sales associate. Today is her day off, but she indicated that the car was produced early (Feb 3rd instead of Feb 6th). She said it is awaiting shipment like yours. She will also get the Maroney label so that I know the MSRP of what I am purchasing.

@Omega803 here is the latest from my sales associate. The car left Germany on Feb 9th on the Hawaiian Highway. It is scheduled to arrive in Brunswick, Georgia on Feb 27th. No Maroney label as of today.

I plugged my VIN into mb.vin and was able to retrieve the build sheet. It looks like everything I ordered made it through production despite the warning notices on the mbusa.com site about chip shortages. The build sheet confirmed that my SL has digital lights. There were also separate codes on the sheet for the various advanced features for the digital lights.
