Mansory AMG SL 63 trim kit

Looking forward to this, it's just a sketch for now... Mercedes-AMG SL 63 | Mansory
Not the biggest fan of Mansory, Brabus is more to my taste but I am interested in a more pronounced rear wing.

Brabus did a custom interior but no trims kits yet...

Not sure if I am a fan of this look, seems to be a bit at odds with the mission of the car - however, whatever floats your boat.

Aqua interior looks great.

I guess I can understand someone with money to burn wanting something unique looking, but just about nothing sinks in value quicker than one of these Brabus conversions. They are horrendously expensive and almost unsalable on the used car market. Personally, I think the silver car shown in this thread is absolutely horrible looking. I like that aqua interior, but wonder about the longevity of a custom job like that. My guess is it will not hold up nearly as well as a factory interior, especially in a top down environment.

Mansory AMG SL 63 Parts PDF

I got more info on the Mansory conversion kit. I like the bottom trim front, sides, rear bumper, and wing. I think the hood, front grill inserts, and front lower air vents are a bit much.

I'm not sure about the purpose of the "look at me" add ons. The SL as is gets a lot of attention. Perhaps on a Lamborghini, but it looks forced on the SL. But then again, it's your car so whatever floats your boat.

I guess this is like a car wrap except for the interior...

IMO Mansory is creating nothing but classless, trashy looking cars for a very long time now. Reminds me of the over the top Koenig conversions back in the eighties. AMG and Brabus have always being the better choices here. Brabus especially can create just about anything interior-wise and would be my go-to shop. Their configurator is fantastic...

Mansory is doing it not because people want it but because they can, they look different (in a negative way or not) that is for sure

When I see a car like the silver one pictured below, I picture the driver thinking they are actually this guy:

True.
Am not a believer of having to keep cars in stock form and there are many ways one can optimize the looks to their taste.
But Mansory always seem to make these cheesy looking add-ons, even if well made and the cars always look worse to me than before.

I know that one can’t argue about taste, so there will be people that love those cars or Mansory would be out of business

Yup, like you said, the fact that Mansory is still in business means there are customers interested.

Gaudy is the word that comes to my mind. But as Wolfie says it is all a matter of taste. Many of my friends like special scotches and are rapturous in talking about them. To me it all tastes like this nasty cough medicine I had to take occasionally as a kid! Ah well

Looks like Mansory "tried" the Maybach:

I agree the whole kit is a bit.. ok a lot... much ;-) But I did get the wing, it's the one place where I felt the stock car was a bit of a letdown. I wanted an AMG, not a Porsche. I will probably put a clear matte satin wrap on it as I have on the rest of the car to blend in better (you still see the carbon clearly but it's matte)

Oh and I do race cars on tracks, I know how aero works and I know this does nothing for a car of this weight. ;-) My other car:

I like it. Like most Carbon Fibre trim pieces on these cars it’s a decorative add-on but it works!

Nice look man.

Do you mind sending a pic with the wing up? Thinking about doing this as well

T

The indent on the right side or the rear edge is for the Mansory logo which I haven't glued on. I'm still debating doing an Xpel Stealth clear satin wrap on it.

I like the fenders flares. I would like to know if the vehicle was lowered and by what means. There is way too much gap in the rear of the stocked SL63. Also like the front chin spoiler and rear spoiler.
