In the States, I have not come across any discounts close to $30k off a 2022 SL55. Most US dealers are using the $10k Conquest dollars as the discount plus the availability of the Mercedes Finance 3.9% interest rate. Unless MB is providing dealers with additional large subsidies, the dealers do not have $30k of profit on a SL55 (it is not expensive enough).

It's funny because even if you ,milk them out of a 30k discount, you're still just covering the new luxury tax.How annoying.

I think the OP’s point was that dealers are now marking them down. I have seen the same thing in Toronto - the SL63 are sitting on lots. My dealer has at least 5, that’s just in the showroom. So go in and negotiate! They are advertising about 10% off just to start, so go for 20% and probably settle at 15% off. I hope no one paid over MSRP.

Why not go for an AMG GT cabrio? Seems to have what you are looking for. I think the AMG GT is a more impressive effort from MB than the current SL. Will see what they do with the new AMG GT version.

If they come out of the gate with 25K off, you can probably get it to 35-40K - you’re in the “driver’s seat” - there is tons of inventory across Canada. And MB may slap on dealer incentives to move them. It doesn’t look great to have all this stock of a brand new cabrio in the spring…

That there are discounts on new SL's is what was to be expected. Using the older model year definitely impacts sales prices and unfortunately this continued delivery delay of MY23 means that the trend continues.
You easily get these at triple net and then some due to trunk money although warmer weather will accelerate convertible sales.

It’s still cheaper than most states in US, even with the 10% luxury tax. And BTW, lux tax is about $20k, not $30.

Until June, current owners of Porsches (2008 to present) and certain AMG models are entitled to a $10k discount on new 2022 SLs. For me the $10k was really $10,660 because it was taken off the top and I paid $660 less in sales tax. Until the end of this month MB is also offering 3.99% financing up to 72 months.

Hey I would like to personally thank you slk55er. This thread he/she started inspired me to find a good deal and I did! Cancelled my 2023 SL55 and got a new 2022 SL63. Without the inspiration I would not have upgraded, got a lot of saving and save on the misery of waiting for the 2023. Than you!

The Conquest Dollars are covered by MBUSA not the dealership. The dealer fills out a form for the dealership to get reimbursed by corporate. If you can get more than the Conquest Dollars from the dealer you are not restricted from doing so. It really depends if you can find a dealer who is sitting on 2022 inventory. In my case, my local dealer had no SL55 inventory and traded a future allocation to get the car from another dealer. So there was no room to get more than the Conquest Dollars. My dealer also covered the transportation costs from PA to GA.
