Victim of the same "no more crackling sound" and FUMING

I brought my car in for a recall (service pump) and they did some sort of an update. Since then... no more crackling sound. It is still louder in Sports+ but no "back fire" or crackling sound anymore. I am NOT happy about it and the dealership has no clue to why or how this happened. I bought it for the quality of ride and its sound. Now it is like having a Lambo that sounds like a Bimmer. NOT WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR. I want my car back!

I wrote a letter to Mercedes Benz hoping they have an idea or a fix, but I am NOT letting this go. Anyone found a fix so far?

Luc

Base on my experience, all sound came back to normal after the software update on engine control unit. It's been a month now with no issue.

Thanks Parrrky. There is hope then. How long did it take after the update was done, for sound to come back? It's been 2 weeks since they did mine and still it hasn't come back...

Mine went into the service because the sound was gone. I explained the whole thing and MB diagnosed and performed the software update. Ever since I picked it up from the service, sound completely came back to the way it should be.

Hey Parrrky... Would you mind giving me the name of your dealership and/or the name of your advisor? Thank you in advance. If you prefer, send it to Luc@PrestigeFlooringFL.com

If you want a little more sound you can install the Renntech EVM, pretty easy to install and you get a remote that can open to 100% or return to the factory setting at any time. It's a simple plug-in harness with no wiretaps.
