I wanted to know if anyone has found a good solution for winter tires for SL63. I am thinking to go all the way to 19 - and get both wheels and rims. But I cannot find reasonable prices...

I don't know where you live and what you are looking for, eg dry/wet performance with snow performance vs heavy winter snow/ice performance. I drive Michelin Alpin 5 UHP and are good for light winters. Vredestein Wintrac Pro are reasonably priced and good for dry/wet climates. In my case Alpin's were the only ones in stock 2 years ago. I'm going with some used 20inch winter tires from a friend the had a gt63. Tires are quite easy to get, the problem are the mags.
If you stick to spec, there are no mags available on the market for this car. I went to a reputable mag shop and they ran a 3rd scan on the brake assembly to know how much clearance I actually need. They'll come back to me with results. Hopefully, I'll be able to pick up some mags off the shelf for winter I will update hre
