Yes, that is my review, and I am not affiliated with the company. When I sold the Aston to move to the SL, this was quickly and easily uninstalled; I finally got around to installing it this weekend. I opted for an off center application (the bottom lip comes to a "point" in the center); used a factory screw for the back hole and a self tapping screw for the front (no double stick tape was necessary), it works perfectly and completely out of sight when the front plate isn't installed. Hope this helps someone in the future! KH

True. It is the law. Haven't had a front plate in Southern California on any of my cars for 15 years. Never an issue. But it's nice to know there is a solution for those who want one.
A bit back, I heard that meter maids were handing out no front plate tickets in SF (urban legend?), this solution is a great option for driving plate-less, add the plate while parked in The City and remove when mobile again. For the pessimist, this bracket is very much a permanent installation for when one might need to get the fix-it signed off. It is invisible when the plate is not installed, which is how I am 95% of the time-- Cheers, KH
Haven't driven the Merc much in the cold weather, so thank you for your patience on the pictures. No award winning shots, as the light was horrible (sun was too low), but it will give you a good idea of where I chose to mount it (off center, since the bumper comes to a "point"), as well as the mounting system. About fifteen years ago, I got a ticket at SFO long term parking for no front plate. I’m still pissed about it, but it is the only time in thirty years of driving in California that a front plate was an issue.
I'm in the DMV (DC, Maryland, VA) metro area. Front plates are required. I never put one on my cars. I've been pulled over exactly 1 time for it. In a parking lot on my way to Chipoltle. The cop pulled me over for "dark tint" and mentioned the front plate. He was phishing. He was hoping to catch a drug dealer with dark tint and rims only to find a professional. I lied and said the car never came with a front bracket, it's been on order from Germany for months. He wrote me a repair order for the tint. I used to have a connect, but they're cracking down on 3rd party inspectors. So, I had to pay to have it removed, reinspected and of course I put the tint right back on still no front plate. Can we go fight crime for crying out loud? Real crime!
