During the warmer months, the squeal appeared whenever there was a build up of brake dust. A few higher speed stops or a car wash usually fixed the problem. With the cold temperatures this winter, I have a persistent squeal that I cannot get rid of with my usual methods. The car has about 15k miles (and I don't track the car) so I am sure that the pads and rotors still have a lot of meat on them.

99% of my HP Euro cars never squealed and never a need for bedding the brakes, I did have one MB coupe years back that squealed, MB replaced pads and rotors which cured the issue for good. It would make me crazy if my new AMG squealed like a school bus.

None. I have CCB btw - but didn't before with a GTS and GTC with non-CCBs.

So it seems some do and others don't which is par for the course and why I believe some rotors are made just a bit out of spec which creates a vibration that manifests as a squealing noise, otherwise they would all squeal. As mentioned, I had a new MB coupe that squealed and new rotors/pads replaced under warranty cured it for good.

My old R231 with CCB did squeal because most of my driving is done in the city so the brakes would get glazed. A good bedding in would solve the problem. This is also the case with my W213 with CCB. My new R232 with CC B hasn’t had any issues with squealing.Originally Posted by RJC

I see, good to hear, I guess we are playing something called the brake lottery. Originally Posted by RJC
