AC intermittent
560sl, Cabin Air Temperature Sensor
> Not sure if this is the problem or not. When I first get in and start the vehicle, the AC will come on and works great. If I shut the vehicle down however and then go to restart, the AC or heat will not come back on most of the time, That is to say, the blower will not run, when pushing various buttons for defrost or normal cooling, heating, you can hear the opening and closing of the various hoses within the dashboard but no blower, no compressor start, and or no heat should you ask for it by increasing the desired temp control wheel. Fuses are fine. Again, if it refuses to start (sometimes after 20 min or so it will, often it won't) the next day it works fine again UNTIL I shut the engine off again. At my wit's end here.
> Thanks and any help or advice is much appreciated. By the way, if it is the cabin temp sensor in the middle of the dash on top, does it just come out from the top or is it a "take the whole dashboard apart" type project?
Have an update that I hope strikes a bell with others on the forum. If, before or right after shutting the engine off, I put a towel over the in cabin sensor on the dash protecting it from the blazing sun, the air conditioner will come on when I come back and restart the engine! This gets me thinking it may be the in car sensor or maybe the electronic control unit for temperature behind the glove box? Make any sense?
