Here in Newport Beach, Mercedes is referred to as a Newport Chevy (Porsche is a Newport VW). Yet, I have only seen one SLR on the road, two Maybachs, about four SL65s, and so many SL55s they could amost take the place of the Newport VWs. What is really fun is the local gathering on PCH on Saturday mornings - you name the exotic and it is there in the parking lot of a local "strip mall" in Newport Coast along with various hot rods and the rest.

 

I dont take good pictures, its because the SLR make my photography skill much better then its suppose to look. lol

The SLR has some kind of weird aura to it. When it just came out, I was classifying it as almost odd to ugly. But as recently time grows, the more you look and dwell on it, the nicer it becomes. Its sort of like grows on you. I dont know with you guys but it has this kind of effect on me. Now I look at it, it seems MUCH MUCH better looking then when I initially saw it during the concept car and launching times back then.

Weird.. i suppose its was you call a good design which have a longing and eventually lingering effect. Its somehow like the CLS. It evetually looks nice!
