Well in HK there is no Sales Tax. But for vehicles there is a First Registration Tax. It is a 40-60% tax put on cars without previous registration. The percentage depends on the engine's cubic capacity. It also works the same way if you are importing a car to HK. But when a car is used, the value drops dramatically. The ferrari 360 modena is an odd example. There is a 2 year waiting list for a new one priced at $2,188,000HKD=$280,000 USD. Used 1999's or 2000's can be bought right now for $1,600,000HKD=$205,000 USD. Thats a huge drop in price for a 2-3 year car. Why wait 2 years to pay 75,000 more?

Tezta: yes on both cars, and I honestly don't know what the dealer will give me. I don't HAVE to trade it in, I could sell it if I can get more money elsewhere.

Any reason you did not opt. for the "Turbine" AMG wheel? Don't get me wrong, I think the Ultra Thin Spoke AMG's look great; but some people might mistake this for a "REGULAR" SL500!! Now, that would be a travisty!!!!! Great looking car!![Cool](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)

Here's another picture of the SL55 I saw in London last week, with the turbine wheels. They look great in the metal, with an AMG logo on the rim (at the bottom of the photograph) and the air connector on the opposite side.
Maybe not the easiest to clean, but I'm looking at a permanently connected high pressure washer so that it's the job of a minute to go round each wheel on coming back from a trip.

I really do like those wheels & the part about keeping them clean, seems to me that if you can afford the car, you might be able to afford to have the mobile detail guy come out & do the dirty work for you!!!
