SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Carbon Fiber Interior (R230)

Carbon Fiber Interior (R230)
In researching carbon-fiber interior pieces for SL230 (application to black SL65 w/black nappa leather), I'm having difficulty finding pictures of what the various manufacturers are currently offering. Any assitance in viewing pics for the universe of carbon-fiber options available to all of us is greatly appreciated. For example, there may be silver, gray or charcoal-black versions, different weaves, etc. I'm very interested in reading of your preferences of what is found on this thread. Many thanks in advance for the assistance.

I noticed the web site is http://www.aoyama-pitin.co.jp/, but not reading Japanese I couldn't determine manufacturer? Do you know if parts are available for US/international order, or just in Japan? Very nice. I've never seen the carbon fiber treatment/bits extend down window sill (not sureI like, but it is striking) or at door end-closure (very nice). I think some of this can be carbon-fiber overload, but thank you for pointing me to this. General inquiry, do you all think the light silver or charcoal carbon finish would look better on a black-on-black SL?

Judging from the pictures, it's probably MP Designs CF trims.
You can contact Performance Products as they are the US distributor of MP Designs stuff.
If you want to go a little more custom, I would suggest KM Manufaktur. It's the OEM factory that AMG employs to do their CF piece. You can email the factory directly with your needs and they get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. Last, I heard from was that they could do my W211 interior for about 2000 Euros.

RennTech's CF Package for the R230...
Just to give you an idea... But if you went for it I say go for the steering wheel as well.

heat
Thanks for the Renntech pics (not so sure about the side vent bits). On other, any clue whether CF retains heat in the direct sun with top down... just curious if the steering wheel would be hotter than leather/wood.

air vent CF
Do y'all like the CF surround for the air vents (as in last pic, as compared to Renntech pic with no CF surround)? Y/N?
P.S. Yes, that is a nice wide screen (looks Japanese)

That can't be stock... and if it is I want one! Seriously, I highly doubt that it's stock...
If you really want to find out you could always email them and ask them what headunit it is... frankly I can't find a reliable English-Japanese Translator.
PS: It may be old age but look at the bottom of the remote I think it says Pioneer or some other company but defiantly not Bose, MB or AMG.
Ricky your the geek here.... Don't you have some fancy high tech CIS program that can zoom in 100 times and make it clear :p

Kleemann
Here is Kleemann via link: http://www.tuningnews.net/news/040201/pic.php?id=03
What do you all think of the style of this Kleemann steering wheel over the others above (note that it surrounds the CF, as opposed to completely exposing CF)? To that, do you prefer the Carlsson or Kleemann style.
Noticed that Kleemann, Carlsson and Brabus have their logos on their CF (Lorinser does not seem to?). I'm personally not logo-happy and prefer without all being equal.
Can someome please post comparative image for RennTech CF?
If anyone has the CF treatment in their vehicle I'd appreciate hearing. Many thanks again.

I think both look good. I would only want the Carrleson one if the Alcantara matched the cars perfectly. Both look good though. I hear the steering wheel prices are extreme though. I like the lighter color as opposed to the real dark myself. What color is your interior?

Black
Black Nappa (X11) is the interior it will go in (also reason for my querry whether dark (charcoalish) or lighter (silverish) CF would look better in black interior, also steering wheel would be black leather with CF treatment).
For steering wheel, cost and leather (or alcantara) finish aside, does the Kleemann-type (CF surrounded) or regular exposed top/bottom-rail CF look better?
By the way, here is another Renntech steering wheel (not for SL230 I think), followed by Kleemann wheel (same).
Also curious if many of these brands are getting the same CF wheel stock from the same place, the weaves, etc look the same, e.g. Carlsson vs. Brabus vs. Lorinser. Kleemann seems to have a different look and offers various CF colors (http://www.kleemann.dk/site/Main/accessories).

Most of the steering wheels are $1600 USD to $2000+, however I am (still) waiting for price response.
Attached is interior shot of SL230 Kleemann interior, note that the first is with lighter (silver-ish) CF. The second shot is the darker carbon. I am not sure whether the light or darker CF would look better with the Black Nappa (X11) interior. The light CF might look to flashy, but then again it may play well as contrast in a black/black environment (where darker CF may get lost or seem too stealth). Thoughts?

The carbon fiber in my Silver Arrow is like the last pic. Depending on the exterior color, the light would be my choice. It doesn't look good in a yellow car but I saw pics in a silver car and I thought it looked great. The darker carbon is almost too dark and the light would be a nice contrast for a silver or black car.

Thanks, undecided but tending to agree that full black ext, black int. and dark CF may be too much; lighter CF may be the ticket. As far as brands, this lessens the field I think... now Kleemann and MP-Design as was posted before. Know any other manufacturers doing lighter CF bits for SL230?
