I had the windows done on my car today, and worry that they are too 'Gangster ' Black. Maybe in the sun tomorrow they will look better ?

I think it looks classy.

Im curious, do you have any restrictions against tinted windows in the U.K.?

Here in California, we're not supposed to tint anything from the front seats forward (Everyone does it anyway ). Anything behind the front seats can be as dark as you want.

Even if you are ticketed here for the tinted windows, it's just an "equipment violation" or a "fix-it ticket" as most people call it. Nothing goes on your driving record.

The only issue I can forsee at this point is not being able to see out side your windows with little relative light.... On top of that England isn't the sunniest place on earth :p

And about the tint issue... I have a god-forsaken amount of tickets because of these "non-moving" violations... All in the Escalade. *Ride height, Db over 130, Tint, LEDs and some other illegal modification. One time a sheriff even tried to give me a ticket for smoked tail lenses saying it inhibited other motorist view of your taillights

But most of the time the police aren’t very **** about it and will let you off. However, I haven’t been so fortunate.

There are restrictions in England, but I guessed it would have looked funny just having the rear quarter lights and rear window done !

I assume the number of convictions for having side tints here is low as our Police do not catch un-insured drivers, drunk drivers, under age drivers, dangerous drivers. They simply use cameras to catch drivers travelling a few miles per hour over the speed limit.

Looking at the car in the daylight, I am quite happy with the effect.

If you look at the difference between the side Tint and the roof tint, you can see that from inside it is not too dark. I think it is the 'Sunglasses' effect that when you wear shades, nobody can see your eyes , but you see out just fine

Finally, when the door panels were removed to take the glass out for tinting, I got the fitter to change the standard door pins for chrome AMG pins

Slightly off topic: Is your car sitting high or did you have the 'up' button pressed while taking the pictures.

Nice going on the tint.

The pins are PHAT!!!!! I have the Brabus pins for my CLS, but have never seen them in the rectangular shape for the SL, I WANT THOSE NOW!!!!!

BTW...the tint on black is the only way to go, check out the pics in "the stable" in my signature, you'll see I have the same taste. Keep up the good work!

In a word, Yes. I never pressed it though. It must have been the Tint Man

The pins are a Mercedes part, which in the UK is HW 140 760 01 41

Hey! Nice tint! Where I live, I don't think we're allowed to tint our windows at all. BTW, do you have a Bentley as well?

Well spotted. I have had it for four years now. Only 8,000 miles on the clock !

I use it for high days and holidays !

Now you need to put some felt or other soft material on the door sill somewhere so that the rubber doesnt scratch that beautiful tint to pieces.
