SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: 2006 SL65 New Owner
Just saying hello after looking around here for awhile and doing some pre-purchase snooping. Take delivery next week, iridium silver, up here in Boston. I didn’t wait as the winter here has been almost non-existent. I’ll be out in Phoenix in February for 4-5 months while we open a new facility and plan on shipping a few cars out for the stay.
I though the E55 was fast! Wow… didn’t have too much seat time but I expect to have more comments.
There are some very beautiful cars on here and I hope to be able to contribute something useful in the future!

It's a pretty tight family here, we argue, we swing it out in the backyard.....then go for beers. Pretty much like family.....
Lots of great info as well.
I am sure you already know who Treynor is...fellow SL65'r who you can bounce some info off of if you need to.

i would love to see pics not only of the 65, but of the rest of your stable too! any mods done to your cars? plans?
Oh, and welcome to the forums.
No pics yet as I had to fly west on business so it’s still at the dealer until the 1st. Truth be told, I haven’t driven it yet (or any SL65) but I can only image… well, maybe I can’t. I bought the Gallardo with no seat time and had absolutely no regrets. In fact…
...the Gallardo is going to be a hard car to beat in regards to the combination of fun, performance, styling and *wow* factor. The g-car can be beat individually on any one or two points, but as a combo I think it’s an amazing package. But it’s time to get out as the deprecation is more than I thought already at 2000 miles… the 2006 just came out with more power etc. and I’ll take a bigger bath the longer I wait. Will it be hard to see it go.
No avoiding the depreciation hit that I’ll take with the SL65 though… It’s really that bad?

Hi Jeff… actually the trip to Montreal in the snow was two months ago, I just took forever to finish the story. I don’t recall saying I would never sell it as I never get too attached to things but if I even wanted to hold on to a car it would be the Gallardo.

congrats on the new ride... boston and avalon makes me think night club.
Here are a few pix from last fall... (note construction on garage.. now has room!)
Would love to see other members cars!!
I absolutlely get moist at the sight of a "F" car spyder, but I'm sorry, the Lambo makes it look like an applaince. Lambo's rock!
Enjoy

Nice rides! So you have picked up a Gallardo, an SL65 and now a Murci roadster all within 2 months. You go man!

Cars look great! You should come to one of the meets!
I always remember seeing a large red bentley out infront... previous ride?

Look forward to the nice weather coming and meeting others from here. I'll bring Jess and a few friends and we'll get as many cars out as possible. And the keys are always available to others to take a spin… but what else do you do at a meet? Maybe a BBQ? Naked women?
I read a few posts here the other night about (trolls?) coming on and making claims of ownership. For some reason I find that so off-the-wall that I would have not even considered being a little more subtle about introducing myself a little slower. Not that I’m paranoid, but as soon as the SL65 is in the garage I’ll get a few “one of a kind” photos…
