Two SL55s just arrived at my Dealer
Two VIP SL55 AMGs just arrived (8/02/02) at my dealer in Cleveland Ohio, I will take pictures on Saturday and post them to the site.

Thanks Norm I forgot my Digital camera at home and was mad that I could not post the pics today.
Cars looked and sounded great!!!
Did you notice the regular sport wheels are a different color than the SL55 AMG wheels? The SL55 wheels have a more aluminum bright shine to them. So they are not the exact same as the Sport package wheel. I thought the SL55 color wheel was very cool!
Also the window sticker said in big red letters VIP, So anyone in question if the vip program is real that is now put to rest.'
I wish I could have taken it for spin, but thats just not possible.

friday i have seen the first SL55 AMG at our dealership with the new "glass-roof" it´s awsome. belive you sit into a car with only glass over you, and have the ability to fold the whole thing away in 16sec....great!

Mr. AMGBENZ; Please clue us in on what you have heard or specifically know about this VIP Program because after reading your post I asked my dealer which is the largest in New England and they know anything about it.

All I can tell you is the two SL55 at my dealer had a factory stamp on in big red letters on the window sticker that said V.I.P.
The engine on the SL55 I saw at Dealer Saturday had a big stainless thick plate on the center of the supercharger that states AMG Handcrafted by ________ Afferbach Germany. It looks good! I wonder if they all have that.
The engine has a deep rumble to it!

That is the same way the CL55 and S55 sport pkg rim looks as well. It is "high-polished", if you look in the brochure on those two cars it will tell you about the wheel differences on the AMG versions. IMO, it looks a lot better than the standard finish on the AMG monoblocks.

It is very interesting that the car in the photo has the Burl Walnut trim. I thought that all the SL55 came with the Alumium trim as a stanard feature? I think the Alumium adds a touch of race car feel to the interior, but that's just my opinion!!! BTW, pics are AWSOME!!!!!!!

The price I have seen on the VIP cars that has also been confirmed by MB as the SL55 is $113.250 base, then add the options which are pretty much the same as the SL500.
The only difference is the seat option (cooling & massage), which comes as a $1200 option instead of a package.
