Looking for SL55
I'm looking for a low mileage 2005 SL55 but would consider a 2004. Pretty much want to stick to silver but might consider other colors. If anyone has any advice on prices, what to look for, and where to look for the car it would be appreciated.I'm look forward to keeping this till the next SL comes out.

I have had 7 black cars in a row until now....IMO the SL looks best in Brillant or Iridium Silver w/ sport package. The black looks really really mean but sometimes hides the lines of the flagship SL causing some (un-benz-educated) people to think CLK or SLK from some angles...I went over this 1000 times before buying and ended up with silver. I asked a beautiful young girl today what she thought of my fairly new SL's color combo while she was getting out of my car and she went on and on on how awesome it looked so its all good ...but everyone has their own preference.
Black Silver or White would be my only choices....

you are absolutely right! when i had my diamond silver SL500 the looked so elegant and sexy. and people made no mistake that it's a SL. the black color does hide some of the lines of the car. i guess it depends on what look you want. i didn't like black at first but the more i drive it (especially at night), the car looks so mean and demands attention. but silver SLs do stand out and look hot especially with some 20's with DEEP dishes! and cy0811 did you ever get your car dropped?

We tried again and made progress but it looks nothing like yours. I am very impressed with your drop and stance due to the star comp mod. I may be upgrading to a newer car so I have put things on hold.
I may get black on my next benz since it DOES look mean as hell....but with either color you are good to go. If I did go black I would probably do black centers as well

2005 SL55
I may have what you are looking for. 2005 SL55 silver with charcoal interior. About 12,000 freeway miles (no foolin'). Bone stock except K2 modifications done in Colorado. Stored in an air conditioned garage. No defects, clear title, oil changed twice, never abused. Going sailing.

2005 Sl55
There is a nice Silver one on E-bay I have been watching.
Item # 150017103692
Its out here in California though.
As a point of price reference.
Bought my 2005 SL55 for $ 86K before tax and tags.
It had 22K miles but was 1 owner and in clean shape.
I would think you are going to pay about $ 90K
to find one with low miles and the options.
A 2005 that is.
The 2005 at various Dealers around here were all at about $105K
with an average of 10K miles. SPO slightly higher.
I think you are smart to stick with a 2005 or 2006.
My SA at the MB dealer told me the same thing when I
was shopping for mine. "Buy as late a model as you can afford".
The market for high end cars is a bit soft. So Haggle !
Enjoy shopping. They sure are fun to test drive.
But a dream to enjoy when you own one.
