Personally, the pano roof is WELL worth the $1,800.00!!

The pano roof is more than a "sun roof".. You have the best of all worlds with this option, as well as with the amazing, retractable, hard-top!!

summer time

I don't have it. When I bought , it was not available.
And I think I can buy and install it later when it become popular.

1. How about summer time with panorama roof ?
After parking some hours under the sun ,
will the inside temperature be the same with what we get
with hard top? Any data?

2. As I know, MB has so called "sola cell" option
which ventilates the inside air using the sola energy
during parking some hours under the sun.
Does the panarama roof of SL 55 have such function?

there is a shade on the inside that closes, blocking the sun:

shade

Shade - Good! But no solar cell air circulation ?

BTW , don't buy this car during rainy season.
I started driving SL55 from Aug. 1 , and 20days were rainy.
Here today, tomorrow, the day after tommorrow it will rain much again ...no top down.

A well spent $1800

Unless you live in the sunbelt where you are going to have the top down the majority of the time anyway, the panoramic roof is a terrific option. On the old model SL it was something like $4,000.00 while the new model offers it for less than half that. It is the next best thing to having a sunroof on those days when you can't have a convertible.

I had my doubts about ordering it on my SL500 but after a week of driving in mixed weather I was really glad that I had. Interestingly, in Europe where I picked up the SL earlier this month on European Delivery, the panorama roof was an oddity. I had an SL55 driver who had been driving an SL55 since February tell me that mine was the first SL he'd seen with the option.

Reasons

1. To see rain shower or snow avalanche more panoramically.

2. To have suntan more evenly.

3. To show beautiful legs at passenger seat to other drivers
who sit at higher seats.

4. To save money with applying less paint protect wax.

You know I'm kidding

I think it's worth having. Adds a nice touch - just because it's a convertible doesn't mean it's applicable at all times to have the top down.

I think it looks better with a dark color, black or blue, not for me on a silver car.
