Lowering modules?

What lowering modules are available? Does installing a lowering module negate the use of the suspension raise feature by the shifter?

How does it affect the ride of the car? Is the ride height adjustable once the module is installed?

Most tuners now offer a lowering module. I have a RENNtech.

The lowering module will make each position lower. Your car will still go up and down the same, just each position will be lower.

Renntech has the most advance lowering module right now. For more insight, go to www.renntechmercedes.com.

I have the newest Carlsson module. It works great and rides almost like stock. I have it on the lowest position that lowers it 2". The raising buttons still work like normal. It raises a little while driving for additional comfort, and then slams back down when you come to a stop.
I absolutely love it!

The new RENNtech module is the only currently module that has been released that is digital. The main advantage to a digital module is that the height of your car will not vary with temperature. Many owners have noticed that with after a short period of time, the car will being to raise itself due to the heat, this problem has since been resolved with the new module.

If you would like to read some reviews on the RENNtech module, the W211 E55 Forum has been very pleased with this module.

Give us a call if you are interested, as the RENNtech module is priced under $1200.

Enterprise rent-a-car!!!
why would you spend $1200. on a new module, why not just adjust the linkages to the level sensors, then everything will work as normal.

The shocks do not provide proper dampening when you just change the links, also the car will be too low at highway speeds.

Here we go again...

I used the Lorinser links.. which work great and have the SAME ride as the modules. I have friends with the Renntech and Carlsson boxes and all our cars ride the same.
I went the link route so that in the even of ABC failure I can return my car to stock and no one is the wiser. Do you think any dealer (unless they installed it and are cool) is going to warranty abc issues if they find a hacked up wire harness? NO I dont think so...
Links $300-400... module $1200 plus labor and no way to hide the install if it breaks.

Just a heads up....the most recent Carllson module does not require any wires to be spliced, allowing your car to be returned to stock without any indication of modification. Furthermore, it is has several different height settings and includes a setting that turns the module OFF (returning the car to stock height) without removing the module.

In other news, I saw the new Renntech unit the other day at DynoComp and I can confirm that it does require splicing.

The Modules add the benefit of raised height while driving, and then lowering when you come to stops.
I had the links on my 03, and it was by far the worst riding car I ever had.
If you want to be economical about it, then links are fine. From what I understand, the dampening rate is also changed with the modules.

Car has an awesome stance and the wheels look great! what kind of wheels are those and did you have any issues with the tire pressure sensors?
