Does '07 SL55 have dual exhaust?
i just saw a brand new white SL55 AMG with dual exhaust and not the quads. it was brand new and looked like a '07 cuz the front bumper. it had all the badging of a 55 but had dual exhausts. do the '07s have dual exhausts and not quads or was he just another imposter? it wasn't those SL550 AMG where it's a 550 but have AMG package. it had ALL the right badges. just curious. couldn't take a picture.

wow! i can't believe the lengths people will go to. this car looked like it just drove off the dealership it was so spankin new. so you think the dealership put the badges on for him? it had the V8 kompressor tags and everything. the dual exhaust is what made me suspicious of him. he was riding it so proudly! next time i see him in the neighborhood, i'll have my camera ready. my phone camera didn't get a good picture of him. thanks for the clarification.

Actually, all R230's have dual exhausts; it's the tips which differ. Most likely a 550 or a 600. One way to check is the interior. Sport package, lights, and badges are easy mods, but I doubt someone would go through the trouble of replacing the seats.

You can just buy the AMG pins and stick them on the seats....$90 on Ebay. Easiest way to tell is probably to look inside at the gauge cluster to see if you can see the AMG logo.
I was in downtown Chicago Friday night and saw a SL500 in front of a club. The guy had the dual exhaust just like the 55....the side badges.....and even his license plate said AMG something. Of course....stupid has the SL500 badge still on along with the AMG rear badge and keeps the regular red SL500 tails. Christ, if you are going to pay to get the rear bumper and exhaust replaced, buy the darn taillights.

The best way IMO to see if any AMG is a fake is to look right at the brakes. That's usually the LAST thing a faker will upgrade, if at all.
Doesn't someone, either brabus or kleemann make single-tipped aftermarket exhausts for 55k's?? Surprised no one has mentioned that.
