Which rim is the lightest
Hey Guys, some of you I know are pros so just want to ask a question. On 19" Rims for the SL55, which is the lightest between the 3? (pls do not include any other rims except from the three) The one on the 030 Performance Pack. (stock on the SL65), Brabus Monoblock VI 3pc. Forged or the Lorinser LM-6?
Sorry as I cannot post pictures yet as of now bec. its disabled

What Ricky said...
not very light.
also, the 030 pp rim and the 65 rim are different in that the center spokes are darker on the 65
if you are looking to improve performance with weight reduction, none of these are it.
Consider...
avus
renntech
carlsson

Well, if you're considering the Brabus three-piece wheels, then I'd say you're willing to spend good money and my recommendation would be to go with HRE 19"s, very strong and depending on the model, they can be very light-weight.

I was just wondering, how do you clean your Carlsson U/L? do you go spoke per spoke or do you use any kind of cleaner which can remove barke dust easily beacause that's a lot of spoke to clean and sometimes its hard to clean the inserts with that design

Just check out his handle, "nyc123" and the issue will be made apparent. New York potholes can bend time and space. I wouldn't recommend any sort of aftermarket wheels in the city.

forged vs nonforged
keep in mind that forged rims are a lot stronger than nonforged as well as being much lighter.
I clean my Carllson UL's spoke by spoke. These are the polished look but they are clearcoated so its easy to clean.
Also unless they have improved the roads in NYC (which I highly doubt-most likely they are worse now) I wouldn't get after market rims either. Either that or expect to be repair and replacing quite often.

First all %%55 you mention german rims lorinser and brabus very high quality and made to be strong not so much light..............so are you racing or driving through potholes everyday? Second, regarding the post with the chrome brabus VI, there is no such thing as a light chrome wheel. Just my 2 cents.
Oh yeah make sure u are clear coated on anything you buy, the brake dust will eat the "polished" wheel inside a year

brabus
In my experience Brabus Rims are/were made to look good ... they are not strong at all. I've gone thru numerous brabus rims because of how weak they are. Back in that day I felt that I liked the look of Brabus so I went brabus everything. After going thru several sets of rims ... I'm obviously not a brabus fan anymore.
What is even more apparent to me is that the roads I drive are the same ... the tires are about the same (size and dimensions meaning the 30 part or 25 part, tire pressure etc. But did I have problems with SSR rims? NO. Do I have problems with Carlsson ULs? NO.

...
dont worry about heavy or lightweight rims.....the sl55 is 500hp!!! Each rim could weigh 200 lbs and it would still be faster than 99% of whats on the road
