SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL65 vs Lamborghini Gallardo video
George- nice AMGs, you obviously have good taste. But that begs the question, what is the Nissan doing in your stable?

Yes - RENNtech ECU, TCU and airbox.
> Do you have any pics of the rentech cf air box on a 65 motor?
I can go take one... give me 5 minutes

> I need to get my car tuned and kleemann did my last car, but cant find any oe with a kleemann tuned 65. The problem I am having is the tuners claim numbers that are for a 98oct tune and not a 91oct tune.
I'd certainly recommend RENNtech - on the '65s, all the fastest cars are using their package. Their numbers are for a 93 octane tune; I've seen 30-40 HP losses with 91 octane, which doesn't make any difference for street driving (you're traction limited either way through the top of 2nd gear!)
> Any tips would help going to hit the strip this weekend. I have a set of bfg drags from my e55 275/40/18 but no rims and was wondering what you thought?
I have a set of 18" AMG rims I bought from Tire Rack which fit the tires you have Actually, now that I've got my 17" Bogart rims the AMG's are just sitting around... looking for rims?
Regardless, the normal 18" AMG rims for your car will work perfectly, and you want to run the BFG g-force drag radials.
That said, the SL on drag tires comes out of the hole like no other street car I've driven. I pulled a 1.6 sec 60' in that run with the Gallardo -- equivalent to 0-60 MPH in <3 secs.
So if renntech claims 66hp and 102lbft that is for 93 octane? So I would be getting 26-36hp and 62-72lbft? That kind of sucks for 6-7k.What about the air box did you see any gains from it? I know they claim 15hp and 30lbft? Did you notice a huge difference after the tune? I know after I did the k2 set up on my 55 it was a huge difference ( +94hp and 114lbft over stock ) How much
were the bogart rims? What size and type of tire are you running? How much for your 18's? I take it they are 18x9? Thanks for all your help and experience

Not exactly - the stock SL65 power figures also assume 93 octane. If you run 91 octane in a stock SL65 it will lose comparable amounts of power. Net net, whether on 91 or 93 (or 109
) octane, you'll see a large gain with RENNtech's package.I'll PM you about the wheels & tires.
Funny you should ask, I was just calculating that myself.
From the timeslip, 60' times were 1.61 - 1.66, 1/8th mile were 7.1 - 7.3 @ 98-99 mph.
So... correcting for the fact that the dragstrip doesn't measure the time taken to move the first 18"...
(ready for this?)
0-60: 2.65 secs
0-100: 7.45 secs
0-150: 17.3 secs
The car is a BEAST.
, but I really like the z nice ride but it's lacks the serious power of the amgs

By the way you have a SERIOUS sickness and need help!!! Rock on man and enjoy the vehicles.
Some 76 stations sell "racing fuel" which I believe they rate at 104 octane. I haven't seen any other stations selling anything higher than 92.
