kleeman lsd question

will a used 04 E55 kleeman lsd with cut gears fit into my 03 SL55 without problems. I thought the ratios were different? 2.65 for E55 and 2.82 for SL55? thanks

Call Satish or Billy or Sunman at 248-668 6793 (Motorwerks). They are reps for Kleemann and did the LSD on my SL55. They've done many more also.

If I put an LSD into an otherwise stock SL55 ... would it improve my performance? If so, how and by how much?

i would suggest a ecu upgrade, asp pulley upgrade and even the 80mm throttle body upgrade, by vrus on e55 forum, instead of lsd first.

ASP pulley produces more boost than Kleemann or Renntech pulley and is much cheaper. However, I would still reccomend Kleemann or Renntech simply because they spend way more money on R&D (and a lot more cars use their products without problems) and you can be sure you're getting a quality product. You should get pulley/ecu + headers, and then get an LSD.

May I suggest you call the guru himself, Cory @ Kleemann USA. His number is 719.473.6441.

Any idea how much more boost? Enough to make a performance increase?

Kleemann and Renntech pulleys increase the boost by around 2-2.5psi, while ASP increases the boost by around 3.5psi. In my opinion, 1 psi more equals around 10-20whp more. You should do a search on the E55 forum, a lot threads about different pulleys and ecu's.
