The system works ok but it is a pretty low rent system. Most tuners have addressed this issue with various upgrades. Stock cars are ok (but have massive heat soak on warm days) and cars with upgraded pulleys and ecu's are over taxing the stock system after one or two runs at WOT. If you road race or drive hard in a canyon the stock system is not that great once you upgrade the ecu and crank pulley.

SuperDave, there is a lot to learn about the M113 engine, especially its horrible heat management characteristics. If you want the detailed story PM me and I'll give you some tips.

in his garage up in Virginia..........so far he has spent less than 2 grand and has the car running........
I see by your signature (and pic.......nice, btw) that you have what he wishes he may someday have...........a REAL Supra.....

Dave, its not a definite cure. However, i would like to add that it will help in the heat soak issue.
This is the information from Renntech Hq
Intercooler upgrade
Currently the 55 Kompressor engines and the V12 twin turbo MB cars have two cooling systems, a high temperature system for the engine and a low temperature system for the intercooler, these are separate systems only sharing expansion reservoir and over flow.
The current intercooler water pump has had some problems with durability, some individuals have tried pumps that are slightly better and have a greater flow, but these pumps are not designed to give the higher pressure that is required to work efficiently.
Our intercooler upgrade includes a heavy duty water pump developed for racing. This pump not only provides the flow but also the pressure that is necessary to circulate the coolant to cool down the intake air.
Our kit also includes an additional radiator portion for the intercooler.
With this kit we are seeing a 20 to 30 degree Celsius drop in intake air temperature.
So far, 5 of my clients have the unit in their cars and no complaints of yet.

Posts: 25 The extra heat exchanger sits in front of the oem ic. It's a clean package. The install done by Adam @ Euroelites was 1st rate, but I always expect that from him; he's always done a superb job for me. You can hear the additional pump running, but it's not very noticable. Where I live in the San Jouquin Valley, it gets 110 degrees + in the summer, so I had to get this mod! I took it out a few days ago & ran her hard 5 times in a row to see if I got any heat soak issues, but the first run was as strong as the last. I think it's a worthwhile mod that also will help the life of your powertrain!

Robert will have the Original plans/instructions in his hands tomorrow when he
gets to work at 8AM.............I left them in his Night-drop-box.
I feel sure he will install it for me............He likes this car almost as much as
I do.............and he is a good mechanic.
