Great Results from SppedtuningUSA!!

I had my SL55's ECU 'tuned' by Oliver at SpeedtuningUSA a couple of years ago, primarily to remove the 155 limiter....which it did! I have seen 202 with the car. It was also nice to get some extra hp and torque....and the reliability has been flawless.

At a recent visit to the MB dealer, where they did some work that required an ECU flash...which returned me to stock ECU settings. Boy, did I notice a difference!! Down on power...

Oliver had been telling me that they had an update that would make things better than before, but now I really needed it!! I got the ECU redone, along with a couple of friends who did an SL55, an M3 and a CL600, and the results were all spectacular...mine was better than before, and my 2 friends couldn't believe the difference. Hats off to Oliver and SpeedtuningUSA.

Once again these ECU flashes don't have to cost a fortune to provide great results.

Did Oliver say the current flash has been updated? When I did mine a year ago Oliver sent my the interface to do the flash myself so my car would not be without its ecu. The flash was version 'SL55-8403.coded'

Just give him a call, I'm sure he will let you know. He did the same thing with me this time as far as sending me the flash kit and letting me do it myself.

A few of my friends did it as well while I have it. I have 2 more guys that are going to do it, so if anyone in AZ wants to do it, I'll have the equipment until 1/3/07. It runs anywhere from $300-$600, depending on the car.

If you want to see the results and dyno sheets their web site is www.speedtuningusa.com.

I looked at the website and it seems like they offer a 48hp and 60lbft increase for the 65 amgs. Not bad for the money, but isnt the norm like 60hp and 100lbft increase on the v12 TT cars? What is the warranty from this company and how people have used them? Seems like a good deal and maybe they can custom tune a car to get more power out of it?

The dyno sheets on their website are not real dyno sheets. They are fabricated graphs.

I'd do a search on STusa prior to sending in your ECU or using his "chipping" tool.

I have used them for all of my cars and the results were great and the customer service from Oliver the best.....and the price is fabulous.

The best thing you can do is call and talk with Oli

He advertises on Ebay alot.
I had my ECU done by that company years back and couldnt get the check engine light to go off. Called Oliver and he swore to me it wasnt his work on the ECU.After having it checked out by Mercedes the code came up it was running rich. I bought another (stock) ECU and had it installed with no more check engine light. Made arrangements with Oliver to send the original back to have it redone at no cost and afterwards he tried to charge me $150. Said he was trying to make a living.
Then my cousin had a similar situation with his Audi and the same results. Zim over at Topline even had his car for a few days and couldnt figure it out at first but then realized it was the ECU.
I think I would rather stick with the more Reputable companies..Renntech, Brabus, Lorinsor..and so on.

I am sorry if you had issues, but I have had nothing but great experiences, and I have probably sent them 50 customers and none have had problems.

I don't quite understand why you say that you had to buy a new ECU. These things can be overwritten with a flash. Mine was put back to stock by the dealer, which necessitated a reflash from Oli. So I am not sure that I buy your story. And when reflashed...it was back to warp speed again! With no trouble. I have also never had any customer service issues with them.

Bottom line is that I have had great results and the price is great.

Just wondering, how much was it for the reflash?

Has anyone with the SpeedTuning mod gone through a California smog check? I have the flash on my 2003 SL55 and I'm wondering if there will be any issue.

Buy my story?

Didnt realize I was trying to sell you on a story...

Just giving my experiences with Oliver.

At the time I thought it would be better to get a new one. Yes wasnt necessary but I did. The point is it proved that it was the ECU. After Oliver swore it was something else. Then not reflashing it for free after spending alot of money troubleshooting IS BAD BUSINESS!
