It Seems My Wheels Are Heavy........
On my '05/-55...........They are thick and feel "heavy" when I turn 'em by hand on the lift.......they seem almost "overbuilt".
Who makes a Full-Carbon that will handle the weight/torque.......or for that matter, does anyone make a "Super-Light" wheel for this car that is as strong or stronger than the Stocker????
I do not care if the wheel is made out of Coal.......as long as it is both light AND strong...........i.e./performance and durability........
Thanks, in advance, for your informative comments.........

P.S. DOT approved is a MUST.

Carlsson and Renntech wheels are the strongest and lightest in the industry as far as i know off. Dymag carbon fiber wheels are also available but consumer feedback on mercedes are rare.
Recommended:
Carlsson 1/16 ULs
Renntech Monolite 10

Adam,
Can you post pics of each wheel.........???
(BTW: I have a set of Dymag Full Carbons on my 9-year old Ninja,
they have been ridden for over 20K miles on the street with NO issues.)
Those 2 wheels were 4,500 back in '98...........Pricey.

Anyone make magnesium wheels for SL's? That's a very light, yet very expensive material.
Remember that CF wheels can't be repaired, when you blow one, it's gone. And with a 4500+lb car, you're gonna blow one.

I just really don't like the look of either.....
I wish someone would come out with a good looking Carbon fiber option. All the carbon/magnesium options I have seen leave a bit to be desired in the styling department.....
Anything out there? Price is not the issue here.

Neez? Or something like that, I'm sure Adam could get you more information on them.
If we can get 50 sets wanted, I can talk to RAC again, the guys that make the RAC Monolites for the M5's.

NEEZ does make wheels for the car the problem is they are not the best looking. A set for the sl was about 12-14k but I just couldnt find a wheel that looked good. On the lambos, m cars, p cars the wheels look good but nothing for the sl. Call them up and talk to Jin he has good info.
