Any idea if a HUD is in development for SL55/65?
Anyone know if a HUD is being developed for the SL55/SL65 (or their replacements)?

I checked out a 2007 M6 and the HUD feature really intrigued me...

Plans/in development?

I've been wondering the same thing. I got to try it out in my buds 650i and it's quite nifty.

Hell, vettes have them to. Whats taking MB so long?

Honestly, it's almost a stopping point from upgrading to an SL65 over choosing an M6 instead ... I really wish MBZ would announce the release of a HUD in '08 or '09 model's ...

I'm about to order a ML350 or 500 and when I configure a X5 (uglier than the ML IMO) it has so many more features including HUD and it comes out to almost the same price, not to mention the maintenance program that comes w/ BMW's ..

BMW just got the HUD, but Corvette has had this highly desirable option since 1999. Once you get used to it....there's no going back. I hardly ever look at the gauges in my Z06.

If you think about it, they might not ... since the HUD is more important on cars where you actually have to think about shifting, and RPM's, etc...

MBZ's being automatic's wouldn't really need a hud unlike the SMG and MT's of the Corvette's and BMW's.
The only thing a HUD would show us on a MBZ is RPM's (cool trick, but really what for?) and vehicle speed (this might be important, but I doubt many would car)

From the picture I saw while config'n the X5, it also shows you your GPS/NAV and directions, so you dont need to look down at the map. Essentially, you don't need to look down for anything .. keep your eyes on the road at all times.
