What is the top speed of a delimited SL55 AMG?

Could anyone tell me the top speed of a delimited SL 55 AMG?

I heard it is 202mph.

Is this true?

05 SL 55 AMG, 01 Turbusa/8.43 @ 183..1/4 mi.

I have heard that a de-limited -55 with a pulley/ECU mod will top 200.........just barely,

A bone-stocker that is just de-limited with no performance mods, I dunno.......

The speedometer on a stock SL55 goes up to 200mph, no?

I would be very surprised if a stock SL55 would clear 200mph. My guess is 185mph-190mph, after that, you would need a really long stretch of freeway which is not realistic....

there was a top speed/accel test in autocar about 5 years ago (i still have the issue somewhere).

top speed 202

faster from 150 (or 186) to 200 (i believe) than a murci

My SL55 is derestricted......and on an empty stretch of desert I have seen 202........and it was totally uneventful. Here is an attatchment from Autocar on the SL55 vs some 'other' cars........

GPS verified, I assume...........Stock speedo not accurate at that velocity..........by as much as 8-9% in some cases.....

For what it's worth, my speedometer read 158 when my GPS read 157. I think 1 mph error at speeds above 150 is close enough for government work.

I did have a GPS in the car, and if I remember correctly (the last time I used the GPS for these sort of hijinks was a couple of years ago), it was within a couple of mph of the speedo. As the AMG speedo only goes to 200, the needle was a bit beyond the 200, but the digital readout was over 200.

That is fast................Mine has not been over 150 yet........(indicated)....

But I am working my way up to a full-pull now that we got the IC pump and Intercooler on..........

I wanna be like U and bury the friggin' needle..........
