![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I'm going to post on the original thread on what wheels you've all helped me decide on...
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Now I have to decide between the 19" and 20" version.
A Quick Poll:
How many of you bent your 20" rims?
AND;
How much worse is the ride? Slight, considerable, Bearable - unbearble, Worth it - Not worth it? Would you do it again, or go 19" if you had it to do again?
Thanks!

Both my 20" Lorinser LM5 right side wheels (20x11 & 20x9) bent after about 8K miles even with careful driving. Having said that, the Lorinsers, just like most other "tuner" wheels, are cast aluminum and weak.
I currently have some 20" forged 6160 T6 aluminum 2-piece wheels being made that are 10" wide instead of 11" in the rear which will allow for a slightly taller sidewall to help prevent damage. That, combined with the strength of the forged wheel, should help out tremendously with bending issues.
I highly recommend you go with a good forged wheel instead of a cast, especially if you are going with 20".
As far as ride quality, there's definitely a noticeable difference. It's a harder ride and you will feel more bumps in the road. But I would do it again because it adds so much to the look of the car.
I will post after I have my new wheels & tires to let you know if the ride is any better with the slightly taller sidewalls. My new tires are also a different brand, so that may make a difference as well.

all my 20" rims always get bent living in the city.. one pothole and 2 rims get bent in a matter of seconds.. that's why i buy cheap rims and replace them every year.. i have 18s on my porsche and no problems though

I have Carlssens' 20'' and the ride is fine on E-way and smooth roads. Ride is definately harsher with 20's but not bad enough to not make the switch. Slight bumps like business entrances from main drag is where I notice it most. I put the 18's back on in the late fall till spring even though I don't drive car in snow or salt conditions. I bent 2 of the rims a little with careful driving but they were repaired perfectly.

i have 20" Asanti's and they haven't bent after about ~14K miles... and the ride isn't much differant... if I remember correctly, w/ 19" the car feel's more loose and the tires break loose all the time.

And according to Asanti's web site, their wheels are forged. I think this makes a big difference. That's why I'm going with forged this time around. The Lorinsers are just too weak and soft and bend too easy.

go for the 20s
Mine are 20" HRE 540R with CSC3 tires. I have installed them for 6 months and I think the ride is more confortable than my previous one which were 19" AMG wheels with bridgestone tires(RE050)....and the look, of course is much much aggressive~~~

Cappy,
Wow... What you said right there is real important... Cause I was thinking of Bridg's with the SL65 wheels... I hear the PS2's are the bomb... where ride, and other things are concerned... I'm leaning this way.
Thanks,
