Looking for some SL55 Info

Greetings. I am thinking about selling my CLK55 for an SL55. Looking for some information. Thinking 05/06/07. Anything special I have to have for options or anything that I absolutely should NOT get. Any info would be great.

Thanks,

Well, from trading from an 05 to an 07, if money is no object get the 07. You get nice 19's, much firmer ABC suspension, carbon fiber interior, real steering wheel paddles oh and did i mention what feels to me like 50 more HP. I know benz claims its only 20, but this car would eat my old SL for lunch its that much faster. All this being said though, the 05 and 06's are still wonderful cars, cant really go wrong with any of them. If performance is an issue for you though, i would recommend finding one without the PANO roof as it seems to add alot of weight to the vehicle.

When you say real paddles - do you mean it actually has some type of sequential manual tranny or is this just the fact that they have moved the switches off the steeing wheel and mounted them behind it???

Looking for the right car for the right price - I do not have to have a new 07 - I picked up my CLK55 for 18k off list b/c it had 100 miles on it and was sitting on a dealer's floor - so I can be flexible on the car - but a clean low miles 05 would be fine as would on 07.

No worries - I was hoping you meant a real SMG type tranny. I have driven a couple of cars with them (M5 and F430)- and the shifts are amazing - oh well. Anyone have any thoughts on the AMG Performance Upgrade I think it i called???
Worth the extra money?

I kind of figured that. Seems like a lot of money for not a lot of goodies.

Although I love the wheels on the P30 performance package, you are right, hardly worth the money for a differant wheel style, and bumber style and the only performance differance you get is the delimited top speed of about 186 mph, who really drives that fast off the track anyways oh plus the LSD but there is nothing wrong with a little wheel spin, unless you are at the track being clocked. so for 14 grand. unless you race, its useless.
