Wind screen question

Does anyone on here use the windscreen? is it worth putting on? If so, does it stay on even when the bar goes up and down, or do you have to put it on and off every time? I just haven't even opened the box yet for mines.

The windscreen is a very nice feature at highway speeds together with the side windows (press "up" twice for the rear side windows to rise as well). For cruising on the boulevard of course all windows must be down as well as the windscreen.

It is a manual feature, but easily deployed. And when down it is not in the way at all.

The windscreen is great! Top down with the windows up and the windscreen up (with the rollbar), you can drive through storms and stay dry, that's a pretty cool drive! (given your on the highway) It keeps almost all air circulation down to a minimum. I use it nearly all of the time. It's manual, but I like it with the rollbar deployed, although, you gain quite a large blind spot, but I don't use mirrors anyways, you get used to it.

Thanks guys

I'm gonna give it a shot. But when you say manual what do you mean? do you mean it doesn't stay on when the roll bar is down? that you have to take it off and on, every time the roll bar goes down? I am a little confused on this, but oh well, the best way to find out is go use it. thanks again.

No, it mounts to the roll bar, and when the roll bar is down, you
flip it up into position. The only thing is, you have to manually
flip up the wind screen portion of it when keeping the roll bar
down. If you put the roll bar up, the windscreen comes up with
it.

There seems to be two levels of windscreening. For level one, flip up the screen manually. You can still partially see thru this via the rear view mirror. If you put the roll bar up, a double thickness of windscreen goes up. This provides better screening but also is very opaque.

Doesn't your interior get soaked when you eventually come to a stop

I always have the roll bar up, with the windscreen on. It works great. I like the look of the roll bar, and the wind screen keeps the wind out when the roof is down and cuts the sun down when the roof is up.

the only downside to the SL i could find before purchasing was NOT having a rear sunshade, which helped me tremendously during night driving.

when i saw the windscreen, i realized it could be used instead of the sunshade for the same purpose. in trial, it worked perfectly.

needless to say it works very well for its intended purpose, as well.

The best wind protection provided by the windscreen is when the rollbar is down and the hinged screen is up - this is the way it is desgned to be used. With the rollbar up, there is a void behind the rollbar/screen which causes a draft. With the rollbar down and the screen up, this void is filled by the screen - try it, you will notice the difference.
Having said that, I rarely use the screen - especially at night. I am hair challenged!

I'd give it a shot for long highway drives. but i love the look of the roll bar being up all by itself. Reminds me of the old seat bars on the back of banana seat bikes a long time ago or just a cool type of spoiler.

Correct. I did over 170MPH this way. A lot of noise, but no wind in the cabin.
