BS/BS/BS That guy does not know how to drive the sl... If ur not pushing that car to the limit then ur not driving it rite... The vid clearly shows the sl slowing down drastically 3 sec. after gassing which means he red lined , didnt shift it in time thereforew comp. slowed the car down automatically, Watch the video.... For god sakes , that was an M5...

1) Night video - no proof of it being an AMG SL55 or the other car a M5/M6
2) non accredited drivers - youre word is worth BS since you bash youre own "modified" SL and are totally new to this board
3) You shouldnt even consider posting on mbworld again, unless you bring valid proof that you actually own a modified SL55.

It is REALLY hard to tell but is the 55 faster than a Gransport? The SL55 is a monster to drive but such a luxury coupe too where the Maserati is built just to go-FAST, and always feels fast!
Has anyone here raced a Gransport, I'm really interested to know, infact I've got $100 on it with a mate the SL is quicker.
Either way though if my butt dyno is correct, the M5 spanks the M3, and the SL55 spanks the M5, and the guy who started this thread, crapping on about his SL55, is just a tosser.

As regards the Gransport- an M5 or SL55 would give it an equally bad beating at all speeds.

SL 55 AMG is not a race car, its fast, even very fast but it is not for race. It is loaded with comfort technology... this car makes smile owners of it and people who just see it! Its a very nice ride... I can tell so because a own one, 2007 517 HP, 720 Nm. Great car... M6. M5 is rubish, if to compare with Mercs AMG!
If you are fans of M5 or M6, you should change this good forum for M5board or m6board!

I still think that my SL55AMG 2007 with 517hp and 720 Nm of torque will be faster then regular M6!!!
My friend has SL55AMG 2004, we had a drag race with my new SL55... two and a half cars I was in front of him!!! and he is a better driver!
This facelift and new engine gives a lot to SL55

My first post to the board...
I've bought my 2007 SL55 and had an ecu remapping done by the dealer for free (MKB)..I did race an M5 from a dig,the best i achieved is to keep equal untill 80-100 km/h and then i'm kept in DUST.I did read here in the forum that the 55's are faster than the M's.I'm really dissapointed with my car with only 5000 km
.I did race other E55's which are STOCK and my car was slightly faster due to the remap,so nothing is wrong with my car

The looks of the SL is nice,i love the car,but i would have bought the M6 since it has same looks (even better)..that Carbon Fiber roof and a much much better engine.No Idea who to blame,guys i love all cars as i'm a car enthusiast,some of you here in the board were mentioning that 55's are much faster than M5/6,and stated it as a fact which i believed.
The reason i posted today is that i was spanked by an M5 by maybe 8-9 car lengths from a dig to about 200-220 km/h,when we stopped at the traffic light he was laughing at me and had another 2 passengers with him (extra kg's)..guys i'm really dissappionted.

This certainly sounds troll-ish to me. First of all, tell me what language was being spoken and then tell me the roadway from where this was filmed. How did you find the video when you weren't the one filming it. Also, the video title says they were in an M6, not an M5.
I'm not currently a Mercedes owner yet, but this sort of behavior bothers me as I am sure it would bother anyone...
