I spent some time this week in my SL55 and I must say the rear shocks just dont seem valved correctly. The car bottoms out easily at only moderate speed and it has a fairly unnerving tendency to jump and and down when in sport mode.

Like you said the car tends to twitch and buck sideways. I just think its part of the whole ABC system since I had my alignment check about 2k miles ago and it was put back to just exactly as I wanted. The car bucks around just the same as before.

There is something to be said for normal non computer controlled suspensions. These high tech systems just are not always the best solution. It works pretty well but you can catch it off guard and make the car buck around if you drive quickly.

How fast are you going when this happens? Does it happen more when you are accelerating?

Mine twitches as well. Its a factor of the active suspension. Nothing to worry about.
