05 SL 55 AMG, 01 Turbusa/8.43 @ 183..1/4 mi.
Guilty As Charged......Plead Mercy
I took my 86-year old mother for a short trip today in the -55 to see her one remaining brother-in-law.........about 85 miles each way.
On the return leg, a looooong stretch of straight, unoccupied Interstate suddenly was in our sights..........
I asked her......."Mother, if you ever wanted to go fast, this is a great opportunity...."
She Responded............."Put it to the floor"................
I did and as the speedo swept past 100 she cackled like a schoolgirl..................I backed out at an indicated 140....
We had a great day together.........
On the return leg, a looooong stretch of straight, unoccupied Interstate suddenly was in our sights..........
I asked her......."Mother, if you ever wanted to go fast, this is a great opportunity...."
She Responded............."Put it to the floor"................
I did and as the speedo swept past 100 she cackled like a schoolgirl..................I backed out at an indicated 140....
We had a great day together.........

Good one Dave. That may become habit forming.
At her 75th b'day party last week, my mother was proud to ask (with the crowd around her), "How fast did we go in your Mercedes? 125?"
She was quite pleased with herself.

you guys are lucky, after the motorcycle ride i gave my mom 10 years ago, she won't get in a vehicle with me unless she is driving...

My Mom rode with me in my clk55 once. I had the top down and was doing about 90 and guess what? My Mom fell asleep.
Unfortunately I never got the opportunity to take my Mom in my Sl55 as she passed away early this year. Your story warmed my heart and made me think and wish for my Mom. You are truly blessed to still have her, and what a great spirit she has! ".............Put it to the floor............"
