SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: OK, This Is An Official Announcement.....
I bought the car in Nov '06 with 4,096 miles on the clock........(Original owner is a NASCAR affiliate here and he bought it New in May '05). He traded it in on an '07 last fall.
Robert and I installed the RennTech Pulley/ECU combination and six weeks later the RennTech 2nd Intercooler and Upgraded Intercooler Pump.........
Car has 6,296 miles on it today........and runs out Very Well......
Black w/Charcoal Gray Interior, Keyless Go and Phone w/VCS....
(As Info, I am now officially retired.......but was a Service Writer at an independent repair-shop for years.) This is no kid's car.......I am 59.
I paid 91,500 for the car and will take 90.......Upgrades cost me about 8K.
Body/paint are, of course, pristine....as is the interior.
Gonna step up to the -65...........

Good move. Your gonna love the 65.
You are going to the dark side of the force !
V12 Bi Turbo.
I am thinking the same thing.
Have had my SL55 a year now.
After driving the SLR at the Challenge last Friday
My SL55 does not feel the same anymore.
I need more power !

+1
good luck with the sale
there is a sl63 amg black series coming.
it will have a fixed roof and supposedly cost more than a 65.
should be lighter and more performance focused, obviously.
but why not just get a cl63
fixed roof kinda kills the whole point of compromising for 2 seats

it aint ever gonna be a real sports car anyways

Black Series in general have to shed the autobox and a lot more weight imo...
An SL Black Series with either a twin-turbo 6.3 V-8 or 65 TT V-12 with fixed roof, lightened seats, lightened body/chassis, and widened body with wider tires and better throttle response, brakes, exhaust, steering, and better LSD with bigger engine/brake/differential cooling systems just like the other Black Series cars will make for a very interestingly deadly SL.
It will probably be faster than an SLR, but yet much cheaper to own and maintain. I can't wait to see what MB comes out with for this car.

P.S. - Who also thinks that this might be the first factory AMG to feature carbon-ceramic brakes? It'll need'em for sure.

Also, you can get an F430 for that price
It is the black '05 currently featured on the top right.......
My 16 year-old son Dylan took all the pics.........
The car will also be in the August Magazine.......

i really wanted to move up from a 55 to 65 but have a hard time dealing with the price difference...
plus, the 65 will be slow compared to the new busa..
coming soon to a dealer near you.. and me..
