Come on!!

People do lots of different things to impress or what ever.
I think any mods are a waste of money as you will never get it back.

And to all the silly comments in this thread on whether this body kit is worth the time or money or whether a person doing this is out to impress like some that rebadge their cars with AMG, I have only one thing to say. How many puts 1000$'s in fancy wheels although last I checked, highline cars tend to come equipped with quite capable wheels from the factory. I would never buy fancy wheels, but that just me.
I would never proceed to say that buying new wheels is silly.
If someone wanted to rebody their old SL with this solution, let them coz that would be in recognition of the beauty of the new SL.
I wish I could afford a new SL.

I owned R129 and sold it out.
Just can't stand those aged design, though it used to be a milestone vehicle.
Go test run a R230, you'll make smart decision. $.02

Ted,

if I were interested in impressing others, I would condone the actions here. I'm a proponent of subtlety (like my debadged M5), with every intentions of asking the dealer to remove the v8 compressor and sl55 amg badges.

Regardless, I misinterpreted your comments and I apologize if you felt attacked by that.

No, not really. If I ever decide to sell the car (when the next greatest thing comes out), I'll give them to the new owner.
