Hey whats going on Guys. I currently live in New Jersey and was looking around for SL55's from 2003-2007, I was looking for the best prices and milleage around. I ended up finding different colors, options and prices as well as milleage and year. Well the main thing is I went and test drove a 2004 SL55 AMG silver with the red interior in new york. It was the first time I ever drove one. The car has 29000 Miles and is a 2004. It has the 20 spoke amg rims. I dont know much about the accessories or parts they come with stock but I was mad that it didnt have the Keyless Entry system. Is there anyway I can add that in the future or is it not a big deal. Anyway I gave the Dealer $3000 down deposit until this week when Im going to get a loan from my bank to pay the remaning balance. Now talking about the numbers, For this 2004 sl55 amg silver exterior with red interior with 29000 miles. she was asking for $69,999 and would only give me $13,000 for my 2002 c230 2.3 sport coupe with 19,780 miles as a trade in.. so I am not going to trade it in for only $13,000 and rather keep it until I get a better buyer for it. Its orion blue mettalic with the white leather combo thing..Anyway I was able to lower the car to $67,500 You guys think its a good price?. ...I didnt shop around much I saw the car and loved it.I do still have to pay the 7% sales tax for new jersey and $200 for the registration and plates so its costing me over 70,000... I want it so bad, is there something I should do prior or like should I look at somethings on the car or get it tested anywhere. Overall the car is nice, has 2 little rock marks on the hood but hardly noticeable on the silver. Its a great looking car am I getting a good deal or what should I do?..let me know guys as I want this really bad. Also give me some suggestions on how to clean up the engine and make it look all pretty new looking and the outside and inside leather and seats / carpets...Thanks guys..

Guys I also did a car fax of the car's Vin and it states this> anyone know what this is..did they change the engine in my car what is this.??

Lets see a show of hands from anyone who has driven the SL55 and not felt the way this guy does.

I remember drive my SL and feeling the same way. I hardly ever want anything but after the test drive I wanted it bad!!

 

I too remember 1st time driving one.
It was a SL65. I had to have an AMG after that.
Its a strong feeling to jump in right away and buy.
But its also a significant amount of cash. So best to shop.
Its also a ton of fun to test drive them and get the Dealers all worked up.

The usual rules apply.
Try to get the latest year model you can. Looks like you already went for the 2004.
Keep your mind on warranty and when it runs out.
Keep your other car as a daily. You will enjoy your weekend car more !
Get the Meguiars Car Care stuff for the seats. Dealer has the MBZ version.
Get new floor mats at the dealer. AMG or SL55 style.
Maybe Zano Claybar and a good wax. Your ready to go.

 

Great guys , I am getting a loan through chase auto loans and should have the car in a week or so. I will buy those products and I ordered new floormats also. I cant wait to have my car. I mean I will get extended warranty eventually but for now I couldnt find a better deal near me in jersey for a sl55. I did find alot of 2003's but warranty was gone. I just wish I had keyless entry seems like such a nice feature in the shifter..can that be added after and if so how much and where? Thanks for the help and comments through my purchase guys. Thats not a bad deal at all.. Im in cail and im looking at one that is about the same price and fully loaded. I havent even drove one yet.. Some times when i drive my Honda i close my eyes and turn up the music. Feels like im in my SL star..!!

Most likly you can load KEY-LESS but it will cost you a lot!!!

Too many changes should be done!!!

You will get SL55AMG, ok without key-less, relax!!! Its SL55 !!! Drive and be happy!

 

Personally, i think keyless go is a very useful option...Would never get a MB without one.

 

My original car was a 03 m3.. Loved it soo much that I let it goo once i saw the SL55. Soo i drive my Honda Aka (The Beater car) which i just await until i finalize this deal with Sl55. I can’t wait, can’t think, can’t eat, and can’t sleep without thinking about it... Hope to post a Thread real soon that says
