Black 'O8 SL55, Black GL450 loaded
The CL63 doesn't show designo options yet either, but my dealer assures me they're coming, maybe an option by the end of the month. Could be the same for the SL? And I disagree, I think Designo is worth every penny, wouldn't get one without it

I am sure designo will be available. Its extra revenue and a decent amount of profit from what I've been told in the past.
Anyone notice however that the 08 SL build a car has a new color .. Majestic Black .. can't wait to see what that looks like. The configurator makes it look better than 040 Black!

hi! I have SL55AMG 2007 wit designo classical red leather... Its my 4th merc, and I never took it without designo.
Designo is very important... it makes your stay in a car very comfortable.

Honestly, I don't think Majestic is just Obsidian renamed .. here is why I think so:
If you go to mercedes-benz.de and configure a SL via the "Konfigurator" you'll see there is Black in the non-metallic section, and in the metallic there is:
Obsidianschwarz Metallic *AND* Chromitschwarz Metallic and I am fairly certain Chromitschwarz wasn't there when I ran that konfigurator on the 2007 and it must be the same as Majestic Black just named something else for the German market.
Anyway, the Majestic Black looks better than regular black via the MBUSA site's pathetic (relative to just about any other market's) "build a car" It looks even blacker and shiner. Sort of like 040 Black w/ Zaino

Seems Majestic Black is going to replace Obsidian Black Metallic. Let's see if it's a new color or just a new name since Obsidian was THE typical Black Metallic almost every major manufacturer offers (BMW calls it Black Sapphire Metallic). That's what makes MY-switches so interesting..

2004 SL55 and 2004 FX35
I recently purchased a pre-owned 2004 Designo Expresso Edition SL 55. The striking combination of the Mocha Black paint and upgraded Sand Soft Nappa Leather was too hard to resist. Its a beautiful color combination-especially with the Natural Maple wood interior. Also like the Maple wood gear shift knob-same as used in the SL 600 and the Sand leather instrument cluster hood. I paid a premium for this model, but feel it is worth the extra cost. It is also pretty rare! Not many want to spend the extra $6850.-not as big a deal buying it pre-owned.
Maybe the demand is too low for them to continue offering it.

Please post some pics of your SL - so far, I haven't seen any SL in designo Mocha Black (only in designo Graphite)...

It is in great condition with almost every option including: Pano Roof, Keyless Go, Parktronic, Ventilated seats, Bi-Xenon Headlamps. Also included was a Rear Deck Spoiler, Sirius Radio(rare in 2004), Bronze Tinted Windows, and Built-In Passport SRX Radar Detector.

Be patient...i think they're just waiting for the right time to release all the info on designo options...I know for a fact the SL65 will offer a Designo option
