What is the widest rim/tire combo possible on the SL?

I tried to search the answer, but it was no help. Any input woiuld be appreciated.

You name it i've had it or got it...

9 front 11 rears is the typical set up...i have heard though of people running 9.5 up front with a different offset though.

9.5" on the Front with 255 Series tires

11" on the rear with 305 Series.... BUT... I would recommend 10.5" rears with 295mm tires... the 305's would stick out a bit... Some like that... I DON'T... You have to watch the offset also.

Mainly the SL55 and E55

11.5 is possible in the rear but it needs to be 19's, 20's will rub under pressure.

SL55AMG, ML420CDI, E320TCDI

You can easily run 275 x 20 up front, and if you get your rear fender rolled a bit, you can run 315 on 11,5 x 20 on the back, without any rubbing problems.

That about as big as it gets, unless you are prepared to do some bodywork.
