Thanks guys for the replies. felix, are those the 19 inch twin-spoke AMG alloys that you talked about a while back? If so, they look pretty nice, remind me of the C32, wheels, they are good.
MarcusBenz, thanks for your reply also, much appreciated, but what I really wanted was the same alloys, but I also wanted to see the car side on, (fully) with the wheels, well any thanks in advance to anyone elseo who also replies.
Just one question, Felix if you have driven the SL500 also, could you tell me the difference in the sound between the normal 5.0 liter and the AMG one?
Best regards,

The difference in exhaust sound is like comparing apples to oranges!! The AMG sounds way more muscular that the standard SL500. The one we had in the showroom was sold & when they started the engine to move the car out, it literally shook the ground!!!

MarcusBenz thanks for the pics, both wheels look great. They make the car look so totally different. The multi spoke make the car look rich and exclusive and the other wheels look like the car is going 100 mph while standing still . I have ordered 22 spoke wheels on my car and think I made the right choice. Still have another 20 days to make changes!

JamE55,
Not quite, I got this pic from an earlier post by CME4BNZ in Pennsylvania. The only we had was the same color as your E55, Brilliant Silver & it had the standard 5-spoke AMG wheels.

Before your 20 days are up, you'd better change your order to 22 spoke wheels!!
Cheers

I'm going wiyh the 22 spoke wheels too.
I think the 22 spokes look uber sharp on a black car.
My build list includes all available options for the SL55 AMG, including the custom luggage for the rear shelf. I'm ordering the Distronic only for its "Collector Car" appeal if or when I ever sell the car! I doubt that I'll use the Distronic very much at all.

SL 500 vs SL 55 AMG ?
both are amazing, handles great and are awsome cars. but if you start the engines you hear the difference, the 500 sounds powerfull but very quiet/polite. the AMG shakes the ground, never heard such a sound form an MBZ.
on the street the AMG is über. one example, while driving 60mph manually shift to the 5th gear, the accelerate from 60 straight to 160 only within the 5th. now you can understand what 500hp and 700nm torque really mean while the kompressor will roar and roar more while it creates a sound what cannot be from this world
it will blow you away.
if you can afford both, always choose the AMG. you won´t regret.

WOW Felix, man thanks fo the review, the only qualms I have about the SL, is that the AMG does not come with the wood trim and its way too sporty for my liking. But that sound and that power just tempts me more and more. I just wish teh SL600 with the Bi-turbo V12 would come soon, that would have the comfort of a top of the line Mercedes and the power to match the AMG V8.
Well since you work for a dealership, would you know anything about a V12 SL?
Best regards

i haven´t heard of the SL 600 so far, and we don´t have any information material or plan-positions for it so far. if this beast is coming, it will take at least another 6month.
Bilal:
if you dont like the aluminium-interior, u can choose another. some time ago i saw an Pewter SL55 AMG with "designo" stone-trim (real granite, looks very unique) here are some pics:

Thanks Felix, well, Ill just wait and see, the real combination I really like is the one you posted pictures of back ages ago. The SL55 with tellur silver, and multi-spoke wheels, it looked spectacular.
Witha two year waiting list, I don't think I could be patient that long.
best regards,

You can get the wod trim on an SL55 (go to dupont registry and select to see sl55-s from all areas and you will come accross more than one example with wood). I still haven't seen a wood steering wheel on one though. It may e tough, as the Sl55 has a special steering wheel.
I agree, the SL600 will be a beast when it comes, and I could make a case for it once I see what it has more than the 55 in terms of luxury appointments. HOwever, I plan to own an S600TT along with an SL and it does not appeal that much to have the same engine on both, which is why I may go with the supercharged 8 cyl., which somehow fits the SL character better.
If I did get the SL600 along with the S600, that would be after I have put an order for an SLR. I would keep these three cars along the existing CL500 (black sport) and wife's E500 4-matic.

I do wish so much for an SL600. The problem is, I live in England, and here all you can reasonably get are 3 colour trims of seats, and aluminium trim, there is no way around it, frankly, I quite like the interior of the normal SL500, but its lacking in grunt and performance, so Im hopeing if the TT V12 gets into the SL, then what do we have? the comfort of a top of the line Mercedes and the ride along with ther performance of an AMG car in one. Bingo, my car is sorted.
Well, we will have to wait and see...

I thought the wheels would be a pain to clean as well but actually they're fine. The key is to do it little and often and to equip yourself with the right shaped brush to get into the corners. If you let the dirt and brake dust set, you'll be in for a long haul.

Shook the ground? I want mine now. I can't wait to hear my engine. can anyone else describe the sound of their engine please, how loud it is, can it compare to the Ferrari engine in sound? just wondering
