SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: intercooler pump replacement.

WHAT DID EVERYONE DO WITH THE VACUUM LINE TO THE OEM PUMP THAT THE NEW PUMP (COBRA OR JOHNSON) PUMP DOES NOT HAVE?

So to answer your question. It is a GERMAN made pump with the same housing except for the vacuum line port. I hooked the line to another vacuum line without difficulties. You should see/hear the flow.

Does your car have a vacuum hose there or is it a rubber plug on the end of a piece of split wire loom?

My car has a vacuum hose. I know many things are similar b/w the E55 and SL55, but from what I am seeing lately, more things are not. However, I have a S55 and SL55 so the only exprerience I have with the E's are helping friends when they ask about somthing.
Where does this vacuum line hook up to on the other end? Why would a water pump need a vacuum line? S55,Sl55 and E55 all use the same pump,no?

But... Have you measured IAT's before & after... and do you have a stock Heat exchanger?
That might be too much flow if you're not upgrading the IC like me...
What's the price?
Thanks,

Now... Do you have a link?
And... Are you running a stock Intercooler?
Thanks,
RoydRage

While you're at it... Ask your friend if he thinks that the this pump would flow too much with a stock system?
It's like when you take a thermastat out, and the car runs hotter, The coolent flows too fast not staying in the radiator long enough to get cool... That's why I was thinking of getting the Johnson CM30
Thanks
RoydRage

Because if it does, doesn't that mean it will have a chance a failing?
Also what make is the new revised pump MB is using?
thanks

Make sure you tell them you need the pigtail connector and he will include. Then it is a easy splice and go.

, so how is the pump treating you? have you done any data logging?

Did you get your info from this guys post,looks to be the same as what you typed?
Heres what ive come up with

Current Draw: 2.1 amps
:: Johnson pump ::
Inlet: 20mm

:: Dedenbear IC pump ::
Inlet: 3/4 npt
Outlet: 3/4 npt
Capacity: 56.8 lpm / 15gpm
Current Draw: 2.8 amps
Now considering that I am putting a larger heat exhanger on my car, i am afaid that the Stock/Johnson pumps just dont flow enough fluid to support the gallon's worth of increase in the cooling system. Although the dedenbear pump does cost about twice as much as a johnson, it flows about 3 times as much fluid.
I'm currently considering going that route and want to hear your guys opinions. You may be able to think of pros/cons or neccessities/uneccesaries that i didnt come up with.
