2nd Gear Squeek
I have found multiple posts concerning my problem, but apparently MB Service thinks the problem is not a problem. How many people have a large squeeking sound when their transmission shifts to second gear? (2003 SL55)
In this forum, many people elude to this being a problem that needs to be addressed. My MB service (tysons corner, VA), says that this is a sound that the supercharger makes on ALL SL55's. If that was the case, everyone would have this issue.

I think what you are hearing is the dreaded supercharger squeak. The clutch pack on the 2006 and newer 55 motors will eliminate this. From what I have read some dealers will change it out and others will say "no harm no foul". Be persistent and maybe they will give in.

Thank you for the details, and info on the 2006 update kit. If I have any luck with this, as well as the UPDATED Fuel Tank replacement, I will let everyone know the details.

Well I just got my car back on Saturday, and they claim the 2nd gear squeak is Normal operation. Does anyone know where they will replace this in the DC area?
They did replace my fuel tank/pump with the newer fuel tank/pump without a problem.

squeak problem
I have an 03 CL 55 with 24k mile. I have the same squeak problem when the car shifts into second gear. I live in the DC area as well so I am interested to know if you find a place that will fix this.

You might ask the same question in the E55 forum, as a number of us have had the clutch or entire S/C replaced under warranty.

Dated 3-series all show/SL55 all go
I have heard all SL55's with the same squeek. When car was in for service to replace the fuel tank they said that the squeek was normal.

Supercharger chirp gone
I just had my 03 car serviced at Euro Motor cars in Bethesda, MD and they removed the chirp. I was so used to the chirp after 14K miles that I almost miss it. The service preformed was (094730) Replace compressor Pulley & (113-090-00-44) Coupling. The service was done under the CPO warranty. I hope this helps and hopefully it won't come back.

you should be able to get this taken care of, you just dont have a tech/SA willing to listen or put in the time, having a relationship like this is invaluable and id advise you to switch to ANY dealership you are comfortable with in the DC area to deal with. I live in bethesda MD, my car is serviced there 85% of the time, the other "tough" stuff or HP related stuff i take my car to a special tech at RH MotorCars a Benz dealership in Towson, MD. For certain matters its worth the 1+hr drive
