This may be old news for those of you in Europe and Germany, but I just got the best overall tires I have ever had on one of my sportscars!! I have just about every sportstire you can get. I have driven pirelli, goodyear, keep naming them I have had em. My favorite had been Toyo's.
Just bought a new set for my SL55 after researching this company for a while. German company that has just started being sold here in the states for about 8 months is what I was told from their home office. They are well known for their bicycle tires. I just got a set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. The German sports car magazine "Powercar" has crowned this tire the winner amongst the best of high end sports tires after extensive wet and dry autobahn conditions.

I just put them on my SL55.![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
Set up Hre's 20x9.5 front with 255/30/20
Rear 20x11 with 295/25/20 (do not have 305/25/30 but this size is almost the same specs)
That is 12+ inches of rubber on each rear wheel in contact with the ground. They lock up quite well. I will tell more as I get more road time on them. There is only a couple stateside places to get them. Check out the link. The tread design looks cool too. I will tell more after some track time, but I am recovering from emergency surgery a couple weeks ago. Just wanted to mention them since it seems a bunch are getting new tires. Have a good night.

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Um, Vredesteins were sold in the US as early as..
40 years ago. They were one of the first companies to offer radials in metric sizes in the US. Ever seen any old racing footage from the Continent? There are Vredestein billboards everywhere. I see that tire advertised in some of the Brit mags, but can't imagine I would buy it over a Michelin or some of the others...but if you're happy, all good, right?

This particular tire has not been available in the US. It was tested by "PowerCar" magazine against Pirelli, Goodyear, Michelin etc. and outperformed them in both dry and wet conditions. This tire had not been marketed here because it was designed for high speed driving, which obviously does not occur here legally. I was enthused that a German sportscar magazine praised these over the other performance tires and decided to try them. Take it for what it is worth. However, I appreciate your 2cents though.

Just for the record. Vredestein is a Dutch, not a German company: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vredestein

They offer some awesome tires, I mounted a set of Wintertires from Vredestein onto my E 200 (W210) beater, for snow and winter use (Dont want all the salt touching my babies

I have been hearing and reading many good things about these tires. Yes, it's a Dutch company. They started off making bicycle tires. I had a few friends with them. I heard about them last winter my some buddies bought their winter tires for their cars. They loved it. And they said the price range was very competitive.
Over in the E46fanatics, and some Audi forums, people have started to use the Ultrac Sessanta all-around performance tires. I'm not sure if they are ultra performance category, but supposedly the sidewalls are terrific and these tires are wider than most. The tread design looks really cool too.
Anyone else try these? I would love to hear some more feedback.
