No longer car shopping...
The factor of CPO vs. non is probably not an issue with such a new, low mileage vehicle.
PS - Pricing due to location is BS the dealer's want you to fall for. We ALL know that anyone shopping for these cars has the means to travel and ship (if needed) as a component of cost. Difference in cost between a local car (less than 100 miles) and one across the country...$1,000 or so

You name it i've had it or got it...
Only thing that matters is wholesale pricing so low $70's would be a steal. $74/$75 would probably be about the best you could hope for (assuming its not a lemon/buy back car. If it is, then $50K is too much).

Anyway with that said wholesale is actually 66-69k...right now. 70-73k would be a good deal for an individual with no connections in the wholesale world...on that car with low miles i would say 69k-70k would be a steal. 70-73k would still be a good deal....anything more wouldn't be worth it...unless you love the car...then price isn't as important. problem you will face though...is white is the "it" color right now. and even at the auctions...the cars are getting a premium. but i have factored that in the prices i posted.

White id definately rare, I had a white/berry one earlier this year it was gorgeous and it did indeed sell for a slight premium. '05 is definately a good purchase now because it will hold its value better than '03 and '04 due to all the small upgrades including the command upgrade. Either way getting and 500hp machine under even 100K is a steal, drive it like you stole it.

Thanks guys for all your feedback.. do you guys think it's a good time to buy or should I wait till next year?
This car is being sold by a dealer and they are not willing to go down at all. They said they listed this car at $74k and they have recently marked it down to $72k. good deal or not???
I wish I can find white with ash interior but couldn't find any... anyone have anything for sale???

Steel Grey 2012 ML350 is wife's
You never mentioned if the car has cpo warranty, which would indicate a thorough inspection.
MB Manhattan has several cpo'd '05's in the mid $70's.. Capri Blue and Black.

At 72k you would be getting a decent deal. Nothing to write home about. If it is CPO'd then it is a great deal. Will waiting net you a better deal...probably. But it will also come down to how bad do you need the car. If you are getting this as a second car...then you could wait, but the only problem is finding another white combo like that with that low of miles etc. Can it happen...sure...is it likely..no.

Actually CPO does matter on the price whether it is new or not...it is called piece of mind....one less thing you will have to deal with later on and the car is a 05 so it isn't as new as you are implying it is...Pricing due to location doesn't matter? Again you are wrong...The market dries up in colder area on a car like that because winter is coming and not as many people want a convertible or a sports car. That is why you for instance would see a 04 Gallardo in the low 20's and teens last winter and then in the summer you couldn't get one for less then mid to high 20's if your lucky. But if you are in an area like Scottsdale or Cali the market for such a car never dries up.

It's a 2005 and has a low miles so the "free" mfg warranty is in effect. If you want a longer warranty, you can pay for it. Most CPO cars are $5K more than the non CPO. The are decent non-mfg warranties out there (Benz's parent company for example) that can be bought aftermarket for less than CPO cost. In short, my pricing recommnedations are for non-CPO. I agree that could he get this car for the $68K wholesale and (somehow) get it CPO'd for that price, that it would be a phenominal deal. Reality however, is something quite different. My point is you get what you pay for. CPO adds that cost.

An actual Benz MFG dealer (like Beck Mercedes) or non-Benz high line dealer (like Mike's autohaus)? The distinction is HUGE as is the price difference. The MFG can be CPO'd while the Mike's house of wheels car can NEVER be CPO'd (from Mike). It can only be extended warrantied by aftermarket warranty companies. This is not all bad (read earlier post on cost dif)

they said they have it on there lot for $74k and the owner discount the price for quick sale for $71,800. so I offered them $70k. I think its reasonable offer at $70k. what do you guys think?

White & Ash
The dealer has had this car on Ebay for 10 months.
Think he's ready to deal?

I seen that one before on ebay. they been trying to sell it for a very long time. auction have been ending around $60k and I am planning on offering them $62k. 30k is kind of high mileage for this car?
