SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: what is good price for this car? 2005 SL55
The factor of CPO vs. non is probably not an issue with such a new, low mileage vehicle.
PS - Pricing due to location is BS the dealer's want you to fall for. We ALL know that anyone shopping for these cars has the means to travel and ship (if needed) as a component of cost. Difference in cost between a local car (less than 100 miles) and one across the country...$1,000 or so

Anyway with that said wholesale is actually 66-69k...right now. 70-73k would be a good deal for an individual with no connections in the wholesale world...on that car with low miles i would say 69k-70k would be a steal. 70-73k would still be a good deal....anything more wouldn't be worth it...unless you love the car...then price isn't as important. problem you will face though...is white is the "it" color right now. and even at the auctions...the cars are getting a premium. but i have factored that in the prices i posted.

This car is being sold by a dealer and they are not willing to go down at all. They said they listed this car at $74k and they have recently marked it down to $72k. good deal or not???
I wish I can find white with ash interior but couldn't find any... anyone have anything for sale???
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

You never mentioned if the car has cpo warranty, which would indicate a thorough inspection.
MB Manhattan has several cpo'd '05's in the mid $70's.. Capri Blue and Black.

It's a 2005 and has a low miles so the "free" mfg warranty is in effect. If you want a longer warranty, you can pay for it. Most CPO cars are $5K more than the non CPO. The are decent non-mfg warranties out there (Benz's parent company for example) that can be bought aftermarket for less than CPO cost. In short, my pricing recommnedations are for non-CPO. I agree that could he get this car for the $68K wholesale and (somehow) get it CPO'd for that price, that it would be a phenominal deal. Reality however, is something quite different. My point is you get what you pay for. CPO adds that cost.

An actual Benz MFG dealer (like Beck Mercedes) or non-Benz high line dealer (like Mike's autohaus)? The distinction is HUGE as is the price difference. The MFG can be CPO'd while the Mike's house of wheels car can NEVER be CPO'd (from Mike). It can only be extended warrantied by aftermarket warranty companies. This is not all bad (read earlier post on cost dif)
White & Ash
The dealer has had this car on Ebay for 10 months.
Think he's ready to deal?
at this point theyve been sitting on it for a long time... offer $62k and work your way up to a max of $65kish..
make sure you talk the talk and let them know you know the market....
