Is this a problem?

Hello everyone, I am new to this board. I am on the verge of purchasing an '06 SL55 from non-Mercedes dealer in Scottsdale. The sale price is $79k which is consistent with others I have seen on E-bay. Carfax shows that this was a lease return with 24k miles. However, I had the local Mercedes dealership pull the VMI on this car and there were a few items that concerned me.

1) Cracked rear axle flange.
2) Radiator leak
3) Pneumatic line replaced
4) Software upgrades and stereo replacement

My understanding is that these items were performed under warranty since that is what the VMI reports only. My biggest concern is the cracked rear axle flange. Does anyone know what this is and is it a real problem? I really like this car but do not want to spend this kind of money only for it to sit at the dealership for weeks on warranty repairs.

Thanks in advance,
Robert

dont do it. look at the other post here.

2005, 12k miles, only $72k... and WHITE.

if the rear axle flange cracked im sure it was driven hard too... plus 24k miles and it was a lease... you know it was beat up.

shipping is about $1k... so even then you still save $.

Leased cars aren't necessarily beat. Alot of people lease cars for tax purposes. One basically has to have the car inspected.

As far as the warranty repairs go.....they are repaired. If the car inspects....buy it and have fun.

I have a close friend who is a service writer at Schumacher, who will give you the straight scoop on the car.

.......and don't forget that we have a great ECU setup for this car!

Here is the link to the place I bought the car from and all of the pictures of it. I already test drove this car 3 weeks ago and it is one sweet ride! This link also shows the VIN so if AMGIngenere can help me with that, it is greatly appreciated.
