websites to find a used SL55

Besides autotrader.com and cars.com what are other sites to find an SL?
Preferably through a private party at a discounted price

Fletcher Jones has a decent one for 75k ,but I am not desperate to pay that much of a premium as of yet..

Good question.Walters in riverside has a high line lot,and last time I was by there they had 2-3 SL55's,a few SL65's and others 55 cars.

Have you thought about a SL65 also?

No longer car shopping...
Why don't you just "buddy up" to one of these highline brokers? You'll get the car at near wholesale (auction price plus an up front add on fee)? You can tell them exactly what you are looking for and what you are willing to pay. Can work out pretty well (if you get a good guy).

I will look into Walters, thanks. I definitely want to research the car before dealing with auctions and possibly getting a lemon... Is there a way around this? Service history and warranty are key issues with me, especially extending the factory warranty to 7 years.

Your best bet is too buy a CPO'ed car from an MB dealer then, this way you get the warranty your looking for.Unless a private seller bought an extended warranty already.

I prefer to go through a dealer but I think I will be leaving plenty of money on the table...

How low can we low ball a dealer considering XMAS season is coming and the current state of the economy especially the local market here in OC?

The best web sites are cars.com, autotrader, and ebay. These cars are everywhere and not very difficult to find.

C63, GL450, Panamera S, lots of little British leakers
By perusing the national websites Dino mentioned in the post above, plus mbusa.com, you'll find that prices are highest in SoCal, PHX, DFW and So FLA, but soft in other areas of the country, especially as you get closer to the snow belt.

Stock market uncertainty and questionable consumer confidence levels make this a great time to buy. Visit your local MB dealer and note the level of showroom traffic... In the last couple of weeks, I've been highline car shopping in LAX, LAS, GSO and CLT, and the floor traffic looks pretty light. The closer we get to Christmas shopping season, the tougher it is to sell cars... folks are out buying toys, TVs, and other gifts... car sales generally are going to be light from now into early January.

Find a car you like and go to the dealer... Bring some ads and auction results that support what you want to pay, and make it clear to the dealer that you will be glad to buy their car, or happy to shop out of market... its up to them. This time of year, I think they will work pretty hard to make a fair deal.

Used SL55

Just went through this search myself and found LOTS of great deals - private parties and small dealers. Carsdirect.com, Motorcarsdirect.com, and internetautoguide.com are some great starts. Got my SL55 with 48k for basically $50k. Car has been checked out and it is flawless. Was a Fletcher Jones car. Have fun with your search. If you are not in a hurry it can be fun.

key is taking your time and not rushing into something just to get it...unless you find the right car...right away....then you buy it before it gets away.
